now I've had heavy duty stoneware dishes before but these plates and bowls are gorgeous. they're not thin delicate porcelain like you see in teacups and delicate saucers this is heavy duty you put put it in the microwave and warm the plate up before you put your hot food on it and your food will stay warm for a good while that way. the bowl is heavy duty and has the same heft as the plates and smaller saucers. they're solid black with a brownish rim on the top edge of the plates and bowls. I love these things they're exactly what I've been looking for and for the price I would recommend you get some they are packed amazingly good and if they come broken that's because somebody said something super heavy on top of them or drop them but they will send you a replacement all you have to do is send in a picture of the broken items and then allow time for delivery. my box had been rather damaged but the dishes inside not a scratch on them not a crack to be seen. I'm all around impressed when it comes to dishes and shipping that's saying a whole lot.

This set of dishes is so much more beautiful than the advertisement! This set looks like I paid at least two hundred dollars for it. The dishes are thick and durable and will not chip or crack during an ordinary dish washing. I am so very impressed!
