Like many people we decided to keep up a supply of dry food in case we do not have access to a grocery store or fresh food for some time. These were the best available price we could find: they make great red beans and rice. I have absolutely no complaints. Nice to get them 4 lbs at a time too.

Great small beans great price

I tried instead of Rajma,(kidney bean), it seemed fine as of taste and was easy to cook.. no it's not a snack, size little smaller than regular/indian kidney beans, shape also not like kidney bean more of oval kind, just soak overnight and boil/pressure cook in morning.. then use however you want as curry or in tacos or soup whatever... so it was easy to use.

They have a lovely creamy texture, the skins stayed on after soaking all night and slow cooking on high for 6 hours; they stayed intact, didn't blow out. But they have no flavor. I added salt and herbs, that's not the point. The actual bean has no flavor. I missed my kidney beans since stores are sold-out for some reason--there are no shortages in this country--"out-of-stock" and the prices go up to take advantage of all of us. But, these small red beans are just not substitute for kidney beans. They have no flavor.

my first time trying this product. sadly to say will let purchase it again. Both bags i purchased had some with black spots on them. As if humidity got into the bag. was unable to cook them.

Way too many splits

The one good thing to say about these red beans is they are cheap. That having been said - you get what you pay for! I am a true bean lover and eater, cooking a pot at least once a week, always red or black. Of all the store brands, generics, or name brands tried - these are the absolute worst. It seems like 20% are split or broken, pieces of shell everywhere, and the beans are larger than most red beans - sort of like a small red kidney. Anyway, if you have a choice, choose the other ones

It's not the red bean. I bought it for Korean traditional food. I tried to boil them, but as soon as water boiled the beans turned white. I need RED BEANS, and ordered red beans. It ruined my recipe. 😢😢
