Farberware 6 Speed 4.7 Quart Gun Metal Professional Stand Mixer

I absolutely love this stand mixer. I researched for 3 weeks because I had my heart set on a kitchenaid (top of the line right?) Well 2 things.. one I couldnt find one on sale everywhere I looked. No black Friday deals. No amazon deals. Not even at walmart although they did offer as low as $200. However an amazing thing happened while doing this. .I got to see the kitchenaid in person at Target and others and most of the displays had pieces missing or falling off and so I could objectively evaluate this item with it. This mixer is hands down sturdier and looks just as appealing on the counter. The gun metal grey is modern and will most likely hide wear and tear in the future very well. It feels so high tech. Was extremely easy to use. The attachments are heavy duty and coated so food doesnt stick to it and the stainless steel bowl is huge and nice quality. The motor hums at a nice sound that doesnt sound like its laboring or having difficulty in anyway. I was so excited to use it and have it that I immediately ordered another one for my daughter for Christmas because I wanted to share this mixer with everyone I know. Now here's the best part. This Farberware mixer does EVERYTHING the kitchenaid does. It has the hub at the top so you can use attachments with it. I ordered the shredder cutter for veggies and haven't used it yet. Just opened the box today and after I wash all the parts plan to use it for my soup. I have had a hand-held version of the salad shooter for years and i fully expect this attachment to do as well or even better. I am on a waiting list for the package that contains the noodle maker and meat grinder but will definitely get it when it becomes available Bottom line...you won't go wrong with this Farberware stand mixer. P.S. and by the way ..while researching I came across a lot of kitchenaid mixers that were selling as refurbished which tells me that they have a lot of them that breakdown or dont work properly from the beginning.

I was nervous when I decided to purchase a mixer. But when I got it and put it to work I so excited and glad I got it ! It definitely does the job and looks brand new after every use. If your looking for a simple affordable and effective product this is it.

Researched them all. Thought I would be sacrificing something by not buying a Kitchen Aid. I am not disappointed! This thing seems well-built and works like a charm. It even has a front port for attachments, something not mentioned in the description.

Bought to replace the old.... old.... stand mixer . This model had all the standard features and the wattage of the motor will do what it is needed for. Already used for making a batch of bread and no complaints . This model also has the ability to add other attachments ( pasta maker , meat grinder , etc ) , so all is good there. Price wise I believe I got good value for the item itself. One note to those that have never owned a stand mixer.......you do not use the wire whisk to take chunks of boiled potatoes and use the whisk to mash them , you use the paddle first to break the potatoes up , then at the end use the whisk to " fluff " the potatoes......

I am very pleased with how well the mixer works, and it's quiet as well compared to other machines.. So far it handles mixing my bread dough and cookie dough with no issue which is the main reason I bought it. Good mixer, good price,,, a The reason I bought it is because a friend bought one and she too loves her mixer.

I just got my mixer today and I am so happy with it. For the price, I didn't expect the body to be made of metal, but it is! I've had another mixer of this price range before and it was plastic, so I didn't have a high expectation but I'm very pleasantly surprised! The machine has some weight to it, doesn't feel flimsy at all, and the best part is that it has non slip feet, NOT suction cups for feet - those are irritating and it's hard to un-suction the mixer on the countertop. For $99, this is a steal! Order now!

I'm new to baking. My inclination was to spend $350 on a KitchenAid, but I opted to spend a third of that on the Farberware model. It works just fine. The cookies i made were a hit with my family. I'm sure a hardcore frequent baker could find some inadequacy, but that's not me.

I made a very big cheesecake during the holidays. All was going fine until I went to pour the mixture into the pan. When I got down to the very bottom, I discovered that the cream cheese had not all mixed into the rest of the batter. I ended up just tossing that huge chunk down the sink. The cheesecake turned out okay, luckily. I contacted Walmart (Farberware doesn't support this product - weird!), and explained that the mixer shaft wasn't reaching the bottom of the bowl and asked how to adjust that, as there is a screw in the neck of the head (online suggestions were to adjust it here). However, after much back and forth, they told me to return the item. I purchased a set of security screwdrivers and tried to adjust it, to no avail. After reading others' reviews on this product, I decided to keep it, as some reviews suggested other, more significant problems. So...Whenever I use this mixer now, I stop the mixer, raise the paddle, and scrape the bowl thoroughly.

The first time I used this mixer for kneading bread dough, I noticed a smell as if the motor was over-heating, but thought maybe it was because it was new and burning off some excess oil. I tried again a week later, and could tell the motor was straining and the burning smell was worse. Both times I ended up doing the real kneading by hand, since I was afraid the motor would burn out otherwise. It works fine for general mixing, like cake and muffin batters, but that's about it. I haven't used it for whipping cream or egg whites yet, but assume it will do the job. Bottom line, don't expect this to have anywhere near the power or durability of a Kitchenaide mixer. I bought this because my Kitchenaide finally stopped working after 10 years of heavy use - and they are even more pricey now because of inflation (like everything else). Anyway, this was only $107 so I guess I shouldn't complain so much. You do get what you pay for.

I bought this because I was making a cake for my Friend and i am waiting on a part for my kitchenaid mixer. The whisk attachment is flimsy and I definitely wouldn't recommend trying to whip butter in it. The paddle attachment doesn't touch the side of the bow so you have to continually stop the mixer scape the bottom and the sides. I do like the fact that it automatically locks into place when opening and closing. I like the bowl size as well. At the highest setting it doesn't seem to have the strength to do the job in a timely manner.
