Farberware Can Opener and Knife Sharpener, Bottle Opener with Removable Cutting Lever,Red

I have trusted the brand for many years and this has met those expectations as well. The color is fun and looks good on the counter. The majority of the cans have a pop top, but the ones that don't have become very hard to open with a manual opener. I do have Arthritis in my hands so this is really great. The unit is relatively quiet and runs smoothly.

I guess I'm a little nerdy, but never having had an electric can opener before (except at work) I was excited to use this one. I didn't read the directions and it was easy enough to figure out. I love that it's magnetic and holds the can while it's opening. The blade is sharp and it didn't have any problems opening a large can of tomato sauce. No mess either which is nice.

Beautiful red can opener by farberware. This is not only a can opener but a multipurpose tool. It features a knife sharpener on back and a bottle opener in the front. It's a taller can opener so it will accommodate taller cans like tomato juice. The electrical cord can be stored in the back. It isn't as noisy as other can openers.

The Faberware Can Opener came in a vibrant red color. This Faberware Can Opener measures about 9 inches tall, 4.75 inches wide, and 5.5 inches deep. Included with the can opener was an instruction manual. What I like about the Faberware Can Opener is that it is multi-functional. Not only is the Faberware Can Opener a one touch can opener, it is a bottle opener, and a knife sharpener. I found it extremely easy to use the one touch operation to open a can. The knife sharpener is located at the back of the unit and the bottle opener is located at the face of the unit. I also really like that this Faberware Can Opener also has a little hideaway section to store the cord. This hideaway is located at the base of the unit. This makes it easy to keep cords tucked away and clean. What I do not like about the Faberware Can Opener is that there is a weight limit to this can opener. The instruction manual indicates that cans opened by this can opener must be less than 30 ounces in weight. A typical canned item in my pantry is about 15 ounces so we have some wiggle room here. Overall, the Faberware Can Opener is a great multi-functional tool to have in any kitchen.

Wow. I agree with all other five-star reviews. I needed a new can opener and wanted to find a green one to match my kitchen decor. But after reading how good this Farberware item was by others, I didn't care anymore it was red in color. This item is great!!! A powerhouse for less than $10. Can't go wrong with this purchase.

Farberware has made my life so much easier. I was completely unaware of how much easier this automatic can opener would be to use. This has made cooking so much fun I love how the magnetic device catches the can hold and holds it so I do not need to hold onto the can. Also the magnetic device holds on to the top to keep from spillage and accidentally cutting myself while trying to remove the top. I highly recommend this for anyone who cooks regularly!

Works on canned tuna. I was looking for an electric opener that would work on tuna cans. The new smaller, battery powered ones do not. I was purchasing a new hand held every few months because they were dulling so fast. I docked one star because it doesn't come in white. That would have been my color of choice to match my other appliances.

In my opinion, Farberware is usually a good brand for kitchen items. I do like this electric can opener overall. It took me a minute to figure out how to actually use it to open a can, but once I did, it works pretty well. I was surprised at how lightweight the machine is, and thus easy to move. I don't have a lot of counter space, so it's easy to keep in a cupboard and get out when I need it. It's not super loud and is fairly quick. I like how the cord has a space where it can tuck away in the back. It's also neat that there is a built in knife sharpener. There is also a built in bottle opener, but I don't see myself ever using that. If I did, I would need to make sure to hold the machine or it might flip over. I do not like that the machine doesn't work on angled can lids. So, I do still need to keep a manual can opener around. Overall, it's handy to have, and nice when the joints in my hands are feeling a little stiff.

Don't buy it. I used it 3 times since August and today it wouldnt hold the can nor would it cut the can. I really hate the fact products are made cheap nowadays nothing last even a yr. I have products that Ive had since 1993 dropped it 3 yrs ago tape it up and it still work just like the day I got it. I'm far from cheap I just worry if I toss it and get a new one it wont last.

this is my third try posting a review, i guess if not favorable they don't let it post hard to use, not good for kids or seniors, hard to Aline blade to top of can, results in wavy sharp edges, not stable while trying to get can in right place, used 3times on small can of pumpkin and can still not opened
