These Faberware bowls come in three sizes - 2.5 quart, 3.5 quart and 4.5 quart. I love the burst of color - red, orange and green. These bowls are so bold and pretty that I can leave them on my kitchen counter. These are sturdy, durable, easy care (wash on upper level of dishwasher) and can handle just about any mixing job you can name plus other uses I haven't even thought of yet. Scrambled eggs, potato salad, etc. I use the 4.5 quart to mix cake batter and also serve a salad family style. I know I will continue to get lots of use from these three pieces. Oh, did I fail to mention that there is a pour spout that prevents spillage. Nice feature. I am very pleased.
There are 3 sizes , 2.5 quart, 3.5 quart, and 4.5 quart, that fit all of your mixing needs from small to large. These bowls are lightweight with a spout and handle that is useful when pouring. The handle is extremely helpful in balancing the bowl with your hand when pouring. I found I can lay my hand flat against the bowl with my thumb over the top of the handle which gives me great support, balance, and control. The non-slip bottom is unique and not found on other mixing bowls I have seen. The non-slip bottom helps hold the bowl in place whether you are using a whisk or an electric mixer. The non-slip bottom holds the bowl in place on the mixer base when in use as opposed to glass or metal bowls that sometimes slip. The handle and spout on the medium and large bowl hit my mixer stand and prevent it from turning on the stand but the small one works great. This would not be a problem though on the newer models of mixers that have one beater that rotates instead of the bowl. These colorful bowls brighten your kitchen. I love these vibrant modern colors. There is a limited lifetime warranty for defects and they are dishwasher safe on the top rack. There is no information on the package in reference to being microwave safe. I would like to see some notation of clarification about microwave use. I am not sure if the rubber non-slip ring on the bottom should be microwaved. These bowls are well made and live up to the quality of the Farberware brand. I would highly recommend these mixing bowls to everyone.
These bowls are somewhat larger than I had expected which is a good thing. It includes a 2 1/2, 3 1/2 and 4 1/2 quarts bowls. Made of mid-weight plastic, they are sturdy and do not bend when using. These bowls are great when you want to use an electric mixer because they are deep enough that the contents stay inside the bowl. I was a little hesitant to use an electric mixer for fear it would leave scratches inside but that was not the case. I even put steaming-hot boiled potatoes into the bowl to whip with the mixer and everything turned out fine. Each bowl has a rubber gasket on bottom to prevent slippage while mixing ingredients. There is an offset edge in which to grip the bowl and a spout for pouring. Cleanup is a breeze, food doesn't stick to the surface. They wash up great. You can put these in the dishwasher but I would not microwave. The colors look very pretty in the kitchen and stack nicely.
Starting with the fact the these bowls fit one inside the other for efficient storage, the colors are fun, and it appears that the bowls will not show stains from liquid ingredients as white or clear plastic bowls often absorb. I hose the bowls because I bake and cook a lot of items that require the ingredients to be separated until the final preparation, and while close in size, you can choose the bowl best suited to the volume you need to mix. The size of the bowl (2.5, 3.5 or 4.5 quarts) is written on the bottom of the bowl, if you are using the bowls for an approximate measure. However, if measurements need to be exact, use measuring spoons and cups. There are two nice features on each bowl: a lip for easy lifting and a spout for easy pouring. I also like the fact that the bowls are different colors, as I am more easily able to keep track of the type of ingredient in each bowl. Although the instructions indicate dishwasher-safe top-rack only, the bowls didn't fit on my top rack but washed without melting or deforming in the hot water/hot dry cycle. The bowls feel solid, not rubbery, but when I dropped one on the linoleum, no cracks appeared.
I chose this product because I am familiar with the durability of Farberware products and these bowls were no exception. The bowls are three different sizes for the array of jobs someone who cooks and bakes often. The bowls are sturdy and do not appear to mar or scratch easily when mixing. I can tell that these bowls are going to be durable and hold up to any task. I noticed that there are other coordinating Farberware pieces to this particular set of mixing bowls. I definitely will be purchasing more pieces. You will not be disappointed in this set.
The bowls are durable and easy to handle. I love the non-skid rubber on the bottom of the bowls. It is so nice to mix ingredients and not have the bowl moving all around. Clean up is great. I also like that the interior of the bowls does not mar when mixing ingredients. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone. I made a cake last night and as I was drying the bowl I thought to myself that I need to buy more. Thank you.
I loved these bowl! I had seen them a number of times and was glad when I could try them for myself. The ring around the bottom that keeps them from slipping is wonderful. Even for when I am breading my own home made chicken nuggets. I do a light seasoned breading and like to put some of the breading in the bowl and then layer breading and the chicken chunks and stir them to coat every layer or so. These bowls worked great because I could cut the meat, layer it in and then use just my wrist on one hand (the messy one that was holding the chicken!) and it was enough to let me stir between layers. I love the texture on the inside of the bowls as well because it makes it so that things don't stick and gum up like in other bowls I've used. It makes cleanup so much easier. I also used my electric mixer in them which I'm sometimes leery of doing because I've used mixing bowls in the past that when you use a mixer in them it pits and chips the sides of the bowl and you end up with flakes of it in your food. Not so with these. Once again I think it has to do with the texture of the inside of the bowl. Clean up was a breeze even with things that normally cake on and are very messy and hard to clean off of other bowls I've used. These will definitely be my go to bowls from now on. If I had to come up with one Con about these bowls is that I would like to see a fourth bowl in the set that runs about 8 quarts. Of course my reasons are a bit selfish there. I have a recipe for my grandmothers molasses cookies and it makes so many cookies it takes a very large bowl to make them in. Cutting the recipe down just doesn't work or come out the same and it makes about 10 dozen 3" - 4" cookies cut about 1/2" thick.
Farberware Professional set of 3 Mixing Bowls – I was very excited when I read on the package and it said “nonslip base that stabilizes bowls during mixing”. I used the bowls to mix up brownies but found that the bowl still moved around and I needed to hold onto it. It was stabilized more than the metal bowls or the plastic bowls that I own. After using the bowls a few times and even having my son mix in the bowls I really came to like these bowls. It was much easier for my six year old to mix items in because it was more stabilized and what we were mixing didn't end up on the floor when he was stirring or mixing the ingredients around. The easy to grip handle was very nice and useful to have and the pouring spout worked well. I used the pouring spout for pouring brownie batter, muffin batter, and frosting out of the bowls. I like how the bowls are labeled with their size on the bottom of each bowl and how they nest in each other which makes storing them easy. I have not cleaned them in the dishwasher but in my sink and they came clean and still look like they have not been used. I also think the bowls are a very nice size to use for mixing up ingredients and for serving food.
These bowls are super cute, bright fun colors. There is a rubber grip on the bottom to help them not slide around, and they have a pouring lip on each. The sizes are great. The only thing I don't like is they are pretty flimsy. When mixing stiff dough they don't have a lot of stay power.
I thought having some lighter weight bowls than the heavy glass one would be nice and easier to handle. The weight of the bowl when handling them to pour cake mix, etc. is a nice feature. However, the handle/lip to hold the bowl didn't seem to work well for me. When you have heavy cake mix that you're pouring, or pouring cupakes into cupcake pans/liners, it is still quite heavy and not easily handled by the lip, I ended still grasping the bowl around my arms. I would prefer a handle, I think this would make it much easier to handle when pouring heavy liquids/batters. The colors are vibrant and cheery, and will add a pop of color to a boring kitchen. The pouring spout is a positive, it helps to control the stream of liquid/batter better than a bowl without a pouring spout. I've only had the product for 2 weeks, so I can't rate the durability or how much they will eventually scratch or discolor. I don't put my plastic in the dishwasher, I had wash them, because the dishwasher seems to age them prematurely. I hand wash all my melamine, I think it prolongs their life. If you use eco friendly dishwasher detergent, that may extend the life of the product as well. This is only my opinion, and others may find these to meet their needs perfectly, eliminating the weight of heavy glass bowls.
