This faberware peeler is an awesome addition to the kitchen. The blade of the peeler is made out of ceramic which allowed for very sharp and clean peeling of different veggies. Though I am concerned about the longevity due to the ceramic blade as these are known for chipping. The Y pillar shape is preferable to the side style as it accommodate both left and right handed users easily. Overall, with my first few uses of this product a performed much better than my current peeler. Highly recommend as this is a quality product.
I received the Farberware Soft Grips Ceramic Y Peeler for free in exchange for my honest review, and I'm really happy with it. It's easy to hold and feels soft and comfortable in my hand. The blade is sharp and it peeled my potatoes smoothly. I also used it on carrots and apples and it worked really well every time. Compared to other peelers I've used, this one feels more comfortable and it's way. easier to control. I also like that it's lightweight and simple to clean. One big benefit is that it makes peeling faster and doesn't hurt my hand like other brands would. I would buy this product again and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family because it works great and makes cooking prep easier.
Excellent Value and Reliability I've been using the Farberware Soft Grip Peeler for regular meal prep, and it has easily become my go-to gadget. The design is lightweight but feels sturdy in your hand. Its pivoting head smoothly follows the contours of whatever you are prepping—from tough butternut squash to delicate apples.
My ancient metal vegetable peeler is a hand-cramping workout so I was excited to have the opportunity to try the Farberware Soft Grips Ceramic Y Peeler. It has an ergonomic shape that fits snugly in my hand and the Soft Grip material on the handle prevents it from slipping, even if your hands are wet. The ceramic blade looks smooth and safe but it is very sharp - use caution when you wash it! It does a great job of peeling carrots, cucumbers and potatoes.
Thanks to Farberware I received this provide for free to try! And I have to say, the Farberware Soft Grips Ceramic Y-Peeler is now my go to peeler! The grip is soft, making peeling potatoes easier without getting aches in my hand like other peelers. The blade slices through the skin smoothly and with ease.
I have been on the lookout for the perfect peeler ever since an argument with my grandfather got me taken out of his will and I lost my chance at the vegetable peeler he had put in his will to decree to me. But the search is over! I was gifted this product by BzzAgent in exchange for my honest review. This ceramic peeler slices through the toughest of exteriors like a hot knife through butter. And the grips are soft so it's super comfy holding the tool.
This vegetable peeler is one that, if I have to, I would purchase again. I suffer with carpal tunnel syndrome and have had many surgeries to aid me. This peeler is a good kitchen tool for that, alone! The size and the sip resistant materials, that it's made from, is perfect for my hand issues. it's easy to hold and get a good grip on, it's just the "right" size for my hands to hold and use. After usage, my hands do not throb, shake, or hurt!
When I first started cooking, I would use a paring knife to peel; only recently had I used a side peeler. This is my first experience with a y-peeler--my first impression, it kind of reminds me of a personal hygiene razor in its appearance. The ceramic blade makes it seem less dangerous, but it is very sharp (I appreciate that it comes with a safety cover). I tried it out while peeling potatoes, and it made nice long cuts (no breaking mid-peel and the peel does not get stuck). I also tried it on a block of cheese. It made uniform cuts. Overall, I am very happy and would recommend it.
This is a little awkward to maneuver because the handle is very long for this style of peeler. Otherwise it did well peeling potatos. I like that the blade isn't metal - it won't cut my finger. The bit that sticks out next to the blade is helpful for picking eyes from potatoes.
At first grip I thought this peeler was terrible. The initial pressure needed in order to begin seemed a bit excessive and pointless. I have other peelers of various shapes and blade styles that don't require this. This isn't memorable enough to recommend
