I've bought 2 of these in the past and I absolutely love them. I put both of the other ones together and didn't have a single problem. This one proved to have issues on the 1st page! 1) there are NO EXTRA SCREWS. 2) the first set of screws I opened had a faulty screw. The inside of the head was filled in with metal so I couldn't get a grip. Luckily, I had another similar screw that I was able to use in its place. 3) the CAM Bolts were awful. The holes drilled for them were shallow and I couldn't get them straight/flush because it's a very weak metal and it completely stripped out before screwing all the way in. I fought with almost every single one! Pro Tip: hold the CAM Bolts straight up and down and tap them a few times with a hammer or the end of your screwdriver before starting to screw them in. I was able to get them a little straighter that way. 4) had similar issues with the hinge screws on step 3 (drilled at an angle and had to fight to get them as flush as possible). Luckily, those screws were made of more solid stuff and didn't strip out as easily. Also, on step 3, the pictures were wrong and didn't accurately reflect the placement of the hinges. You will also note the scrape on M near the hinge because of the effort it took to try and get those screws flush and it sits at a bit of an angle because the hinge extends a little past the board and doesn't sit flat on the floor. The rest of the assembly went pretty smoothly. Pro Tip: I was able to do this by myself by laying C flat and installing D and F perpendicular then turning it 90° and connecting B. I did notice improvement in the CAM Locks. They seemed to grip better. :) Overall, this was a more difficult assembly, but I still love the product! It's very sturdy and looks great on the outside and holds a lot!
it's a little hard to put together, definitely need two people to do it. they had left out four wooden dowel pins but when I contacted them they sent me a WHOLE bag of parts...little over the top but whatever. I would recommend to anyone to get one. they are really pretty and very sturdy!
I read the reviews and was hesitant to buy it. Everyone said it was complicated to put together and isnt sturdy. They were wrong. There are a lot of instructions but thats because there are a lot of pieces. It wasnt hard. I put the whole thing together by myself in 2 hours while entertaining my 2 dogs that were not helpful. Once you put the back on, the cabinet is pretty sturdy. I moved it (by myself) to where I thought I wanted it and didnt like it there. I changed my mind and moved it again (also, by myself). The shelf was sturdy even when I was moving it. I didnt think it was hard to put together. The only thing you need is some space and a screwdriver. If the shelf isnt sturdy, you did something wrong. If things arent lining up properly when you put it together, you did something wrong. If this is the first shelf you have ever put together, I can see how it might be challenging but if you've ever put anything together yourself, you'll be fine. Just follow the pictures in the instructions and the shelf will turn out great! Im glad I bought it. I may get a second one but I'm indecisive so we'll see!
I absolutely love this storage cabinet by System Build Farmington. It is well made-sturdy-HUGE (holds a lot) finish is gorgeous being RUSTIC is a big PLUS-has magnetic door closure (top and bottom) no more gapping door YAY! with door knobs PERFECT! Appearance is like from high end furniture store-Did I say I Love it :) My husband put it together in about 1 1/2 hr.-nothing was missing not even a screw. Anyone in need of extra storage this is it-functional yet has beauty. Will go well in Bedroom, living room, kid room-By the way comes with bracket to secure to wall for safety to prevent topple over. Nice cabinet. Kind of a nightmare to put together especially putting the doors on. Looks good a bit wobbly but suits my needs.
I live in a condo without much storage space. I purchased three of these to line a wall in my study to use for storage. They are easy to assemble, and they hold a lot of stuff. I highly recommend them.
I am 68 year old female! I put this cabinet together myself!! It is beautiful and very good quality!! The shelves are wide enough for my appliances I have this in my kitchen! I definitely would recommend this product! I just ordered a second one because price is very reasonable! And I need one for linens!!!
Overall, we had no problems putting it together. Lining up the doors and the magnets takes a little work, but again no issues. The bottom right magnet doesn't grab the door all the way, but the door closes and the top magnet keeps it shut. We needed this cabinet and love it. Hopefully it lasts for a long time and doesn't fall apart, we have it for only one week.
For the price, it is a very nice cabinet. There were a few minor scratches, but no big deal. Two of my friends (women) put the cabinet together for me in about two hours. There were however, two door hinges missing and four of the brackets that hold the shelves up were missing. I called Walmart Customer Service because we did not want to repack a 94 pound cabinet after getting everything out and lining up everything as it showed in the instructions and returning it so Walmart did compensate me for the missing pieces. Other than that, I am very satisfied with this purchase.
This is the worst build-it-yourself project that I have ever had the displeasure of putting together. Things start out simple. The manual is a large white book. Okay, we've all seen those. No big deal. It is a big deal when you open it up to read the directions and you see a manual with only 60 percent of the space devoted to a drawing. Right off the bat: Whether or not you need glasses to see normally, you're going to need a magnifier to even begin to view these drawings. I took 4 years of computer assisted drawing and this is by far the worst waste of space I've ever seen. As I mentioned though, it started out simple. I squinted over the paper, happily putting together these pieces, one by one, thinking it was going to be an amazing looking cabinet and would go well in my kitchen. Boy was I ever wrong. It said this was a project that would only take an hour. I started it at 2 PM today, and I'm still not done, even with the extra person the book recommended accompany me down this pit of doom, but let me just get down to it already. The directions are not user friendly and who ever formulated them obviously didn't take into account that putting on doors should happen before putting up the back support; which by the way, was just a piece of cardboard that was cut so improperly that the cardboard back support is fitted incorrectly. Speaking of fitting incorrectly, most of the dowels don't go in right nor do they line up properly. I would be bereft if I didn't mention how fragile this thing is either. I happen to let it slip out of my fingers a mere four inches from the ground and a doweled area broke, along with the particle chip board. I had to quickly set it with epoxy and clamps and prayed that it's stayed. On a side note, I think it's stronger now than it was before. However bad all of this is, I can generally ignore such faults because I know that nothing is perfect, but the one thing I cannot ignore: who is the one overseeing the tool and parts bags? I had to completely redo the doors because whoever filled the bags with screw A and screw B, screwed up big time and mixed them together, leaving me with a screws too big in a part of the doors and screws too small in other parts of the doors. I wish I could upload more pictures to show what faults I found, but I suppose the pictures of the screwed up screws will have to do.
