Helps protect my horses eyes, and stays on.
Fits good, stays on.
I have a horse that manages to destroy fly masks on the first wearing. This one manages to last the longest of all that I have tried. It does not tear easily and fits close to his head so it is harder for him to rub it off or have a friend assist with removal :). I like that I can get different color fleece - each of my horses has a color so I know who has lost theirs. Price is good - especially when on sale!! This is my go to fly mask...
Great fit but horses get mask off easier with fuzzy trim.
I've been using Supermasks for 20 years, and have always loved them!! They are durable, comfortable for the horses, and they work! However, I just discovered (upon receiving my recent order) that the Foal size has been re-designed. It is quite a bit larger, and the velcro closure has been moved lower and elastic added. Unfortunately, this size change has made it much too large for my mini horse (which the original foal size fit perfectly). Just be aware when ordering. Other than this design change, I'm a big fan of Supermasks!!!
My OTTB destroys fly masks (or loses them). I keep replacing them. This one is shredded, took him a week! The fleece edging on the lower portion is gone. I like these cause they're not as hot as the Cashel ones. Don't know the solution! He is an active guy & likes to play with his pasture mate.
This is a great fly mask. I like the way it covers their eyes, the velcro closure works well, and they seem to last longer than other brands I've bought.
We go through several a season it seems, and these are effective but the horses are hard on them. We love the new ones we've tried from Noble - they are built tough and seem to last better, though they are at a considerably higher price point. Still, I'd rather pay once and have it last, than pay every month or two for one that the horses have torn up.
Supermask has been a summer staple since I got my first horse in '93 and have been quite pleased with it. Elastic has been added to the Velcro under the jaw, a great new feature. The down side, the mask is 2 inches longer down the front from brow to nose and the mask has a "too big" appearance. Perhaps if this was my first the profile would not bug me as much. The mask otherwise has great features.
I tried a different brand because it was cheaper. You get what you pay for. It was ripped along the seams the very first time I used it. The Velcro is weak. At least it stays off the eyes. I have used worse. I'm sticking with my crusader masks :( lesson learned
