A must have for mixing powdered meds!

LastStallOnTheLeft September 23, 2022

I bought this for my OTTB gelding to get some weight back on him after a bout of ulcers. Within a few weeks he visibly had packed on some pounds and I was really pleased! However, I also found out the best bonus quality of this product. It makes all powdered supplements or meds palatable! I was surprised to find this product itself is a pretty fine powder. I expected it to be a pellet. When I was making his supplement packs his ground up meds easily mixed in with it. Usually putting his sucralfate in his grain would result in him leaving it behind. The weight gain must mask the taste because he'd always end up licking the bottom of his bucket to get every last bit. Even though I don't need to use it daily anymore I always have some on hand because this is my go-to product to add when he needs powdered bute. I do a 50/50 mix and it never fails to get him to eat whatever I put with it.

I started and older horse on this to give him more calories with overloading him with grain, I've been happy with the results so far.

Great product

I bought this because my senior horse lost weight while I was layed up and someone else was caring for her. She has steadily been regaining that lost weight. Thank you.

Didn't Use It Long Enough

F January 19, 2026

There was nothing to like or dislike. I didn't use it long enough to make a proper review. Our elderly horse lost weight suddenly and I thought this might help put weight back on her, or at least help stabilize her weight. I'm sure it's a wonderful product from the other reviews but I cannot truthfully rate it as a five star because I didn't use it long enough. It possibly helped her make it through the cold nights, but she continued to lose weight until she began to weaken, laying down, having difficulty getting back up, until it was recommended that she wouldn't get better. She was 29 years old and is in greener pastures and clean rivers beyond this existence. Thank you Walmart for stocking this supplement. Wish I could give a proper review.

If your horse won't eat it, then it has no value. The bucket is ridiculous to open. could make that a lot easier. I returned.
