Farriers Finish Ultimate Hoof Protection

This treatment is excellent. I bought it for my horse's feet when the weather turned very rainy. I didn't want her hooves to split with the drastic wet/dry weather we seem to have here in Texas. I have been brushing it on 2 to 3 times a week and I really like the way it is protecting her feet so far. I plan to order more and put it on 'auto ship.' I definitely recommend it.

Beau has had dry and flaking hooves since we brought him home. When the farrier announced that he had white line, We immediately called Smartpaks and asked for the best product available. Farriers Finish was recommended. We've been using it daily for 5 months...WOW! What a difference!

I used other products without any improvement when my horse started to have hoof wall separation. This product was reccomended to me and I can see the difference within a week, but a huge difference in 2-3 weeks. I apply it 2x a day to a dry hoof, deep in the areas of separation and the bottom of the foot. I then brush the outside of the hoof. For additional maintience, I apply the life data hoof clay in the separations. I cant say enough about these Life Data products.

I recently purchased this product and I am so glad I did! We have had a very wet and muddy start this spring and my mare's hooves were constantly showing signs of thrush despite being treated with other products. After only one or two applications of Farrier's Finish, the thrush disappeared and my mare's hooves looked much healthier! When I bought my mare last September, she had full length cracks down both of her front hooves. Every other hoof dressing I have tried causes the hoof wall to peel back from the cracks. Farrier's Finish has not had that effect on them. Her hooves look darker and healthier than ever. I think that a traditional can with brush applicator would make for easier application but otherwise I think this is a wonderful product!

I did some research on various products before settling on this one. I was a bit hesitant because there were no reviews on SmartPak, but I decided to give it a go. The reasons I went with it is because I had a little revelation the other day. I normally use Farrier's Fix and my horse was standing there and I was waiting for his feet to dry. It dawned on me that this was a hoof oil. It never will dry. Thank you chemistry class. I would put him out and the stuff would just come off. So I started reading up on different products. I wanted something that would absorb well into the hoof, something I could put all over, something that wouldn't dry the hoof out, but will still maintain balance in the hoof. My horse also started getting those little "sand cracks" on the surface but nothing deep due to the constant wet dry conditions. I decided to give this a try. I have been using this for about 2-3 weeks and have loved the results. I apply it with my bare hands and I feel the huge difference in my own hands. My farrier was out recently and commented how nice my horse's feet were. She said she notices a significant difference in his feet and other horses she does. She said that his feet look super healthy and the moisture balance looks perfect. And she commented how he had even less sand cracks than other horses. She asked what I was using and I let her know. She liked it so much she's not only recommending it to her clients but is also considering carrying the line on her online store. Furthermore, my friend, a chemist and also a horse owner, looked into the ingredients in various hoof stuffs and she found that a lot of the ingredients in other hoof oils really do dry the hoof out by changing the chemistry of the hoof (as the label and website of Farrier's Finish suggest - which I initially thought was a marketing thing, but it was nice to hear it from a chemist). She explained that one of the ingredients in this was also a hoof hardener but not a super tough one that changes chemistry like the others in other hoof oils and hardeners. I definitely plan to continue to use it. I do wish it was in a better container, but this is really minor. It is easy to apply and use. Just put it in your hand first and then rub it in the hoof. It's just when you're doing the bottom of the hoof you pour it on and it dribbles off a bit. But this product is excellent. Two other folks in my barn are switching to this product now.

My mare has good feet to begin with (she's always been barefoot and done well with it) but she was having some minor thrush that just wouldn't dry up. I wanted to get rid of it, but at the same time avoid harsh, over drying products. Absorbine Hoofflex was my first try. Good, but not strong enough. No Thrush powder was doing ok, but it plateaued after a couple months and couldn't resolve the thrush in the frog cleft. Enter “Farrier's Finish”. This stuff comes with a bit of a hefty price tag, but it's worth every penny. Within a week I noticed a marked difference in the appearance of her frog and sole. They always looked healthy enough, but now they practically glow. I really wish I had take photos. I even tried this on another horse I ride who's thrush was so bad the “butt crack” extended into the coronary band. Within a couple weeks, it had disappeared/moved back to where it should be. Works fast and GOOD. I use the brush part on the hoof pick to work it into crevices, however it would be easier to use in a can with an applicator brush. I mostly apply it to the sole and frog (every day to start, now twice a week), and coat the exterior hoof wall once every 7-10 days.

I used this product on an older TB two years ago when we pulled his shoes, and it kept his feet from drying out and chipping, so when I ended up with another horse with very dry hooves, I started using it again. It has helped keep her hooves from cracking, and seems to help them retain moisture. It is not gooey like the petroleum based hoof paints, so there is no build-up on the hooves. Highly recommended.

Despite not having a wet environment, I've been battling thrush on my horse on and off for the couple years I've had him so far....trying a whole bunch of different products, some that didn't do anything, some that just helped a little. This one actually seems to have made a substantial difference in just a couple weeks (I've been using it twice weekly). The thrush is clearing up, his sole and white line are healthier and stronger (as reported by the trimmer), but he's not drying out too much - just nice and balanced/healthy. Good product! I use a toothbrush to scrub it in after squirting some on, that seems the easiest way to apply. I can't comment on the longterm results, but so far so good, and it seems to have mostly great reviews so I'm hopeful!

Have a horse that blew out a bad abscess at the coronary band and out the sole. As it grew out, we had to cut off about 1/3 of her hoof wall. Farrier's Finish is maintaining moisture levels and providing some antibacterial properties as this mare is out on pasture 24/7.

My farrier recommended this so I made the purchase. Stiff brushed outer hoof, and massaged into hair line, rubbed into hoof. Cleaned frog area, applied product. Messy product, friends tell me used to be an applicator swab. Now it's an applicator top. This is ok for frog, but not hoof capsule.
