Very good
I have been using FF double strength for several years. When I got my mare she was being fed a high dollar well feed, and I continued her on it, but her coat wasn't as shiney as my other horse. I began giving her 4 oz per day (1200# mare) and ditched the pricy food, and have her on a high roughage food and she has pasture. Her spring coat came in shiney and STAYED that way, even though she was out in the brutal south Texas summer sun that can bleach out the coat color and make it look dry like straw. Oh, and her hooves are in way better shape, even though we were in a terrible drought and then this winter it has been wet, wet, wet...the farriers formula kept them strong. She loves the stuff and eats it first.
I have used Farrier Formula in the past on my stallion who kept getting abscess due to weak hoofs, I started him on the product and he never had another issue. I have started the product on my mare and although its only been a month, I have faith that it will work as well. My mare is very picky and was afraid she would not eat the product, but she seems to like it.
I started giving this supplement to my horse a little over a year ago after he wasn't responding to a traditional biotin-based hoof supplement. He is a chestnut with some white on his feet, so they can be weak and crack easily. I have kept him on the loading dose because I have been so happy with how his feet have turned out, I don't want to change anything. My farrier has been so pleased that he can keep his shoes on now and has been very impressed with his improvement in hoof growth and resilience. He can be a pretty picky eater, and has no problem eating this when I have it mixed with his grain. It did take about seven months to really start seeing improvement, but because horses' hooves grow so slow that was to be expected. If you are looking for a great quality hoof supplement, or have tried mainly biotin-based hoof supplements that you didn't have luck with, I definitely recommend giving this supplement a try.
I have a horse recovering from laminitis and a geriatric pony with Cushings that has contributed to poor hoof health. After only 6 weeks of use, tje improvement is evident with both—so much so that two farriers have commented on the progress. Farrier's Formula Double Strength Is indeed the gold standard in hoof care.
Product and delivery time were positive as was the price. BUT THE DELIVERY did not follow instructions both on the order and on my front door. It said to please deliver the package up the driveway and put on back porch out of the weather and safe from theft. In stead it was left exposed outside in the front of the house. Walmart's end went very well . I suggest you get a more dependable company to deliver.
It seems to be helping already with my horse's coat and we are just 8 days in!!
