Fashion Mate™ 3342 Sewing Machine

This Machine came quick! I've named her Maxine. Im a nurse in an ER and my team needed hats and masks. I used to sew but my machine was not up to the task. I bought this one and it's a joy to use. Easy to thread and the different stitches are so fun - settings are Versatile for any kind of fabric. Thank you for the fast delivery!

I had a 20-yr. old Singer I loved, but when I got it out to make COVID-19 masks, the presser foot stayed in the down position. The plastic part that needs replacing cannot be done right now due to the repair shops being closed. I found this model and the automatic needle threader was a feature I didn't even know about before I looked on the Singer website! It saved so much time getting the thread in the needle as I changed thread 4-5 times making masks. I love this sewing machine and will be using it for many years to come, for everything from new clothes to hemming to costumes!

Love my machine! For a self taught newbie I enjoy how quickly I was able to understand the machine and how I adapted to the different options this machine has. I wanted something a lit bit more than basic and I believe this machine has it. This sewing world is interesting to me and now a little fun for me during these tough times. I read lots of good and bad reviews on this model but I believe the bad reviews come from human error. If you're not paying attention to details or use the wrong thread yeah you will have issues. Much easier to just pay attention to detail and use the machine as instructed. I'm happy to report as I learned what I may be doing wrong over the first couple of days it took me to learn to use it my machine is working great as advertised. I use it for hours on end and have not had any problems. It took me a week to decide on it and so glad I did!

I am a 1st time sewer. I've wanted to learn since I was a teenager & COVID-19 has given me plenty of time to finally sit down & do so. My Singer Fashion Mate 3342 is an awesome machine since I'm a 1st time user. I've been helping make mask, I've made my own pillow, I'm learning how to make a dress. I mostly am learning so I can make my own Cosplay outfits & fun Nerdy originals that no one else will have.

The Singer 3342 is very user friendly. I have never used a sewing machine before. After studying the manual and following the directions it was easy to thread the machine

two small issues, no instructions included, had to download which will be a pain to pull up every time there is an issue. also no storage case, luckily it fit in my old case

I have started taking quilting classes & since we need to bring our own machines I purchased the Fashion Mate. The machine is lightweight has some decorative stitches & accessory feet such as a walking foot was reasonably priced. My only small observation is the needle threader feature I found it difficult to use at first but I have gotten better as time has went on . The other thing to make sure of is that you buy the right bobbins for the machine so that you don't have trouble when working on your project. These are also very reasonably priced .

Machine has an issue with the top tension. Tried to contact Singer for the issue and never heard back so bought another machine elsewhere. I have tried to contact Singer 3 times now to return and can't get them to respond with a return authorization so I can get my money back.

I bought this as a starter machine. The automatic threader does not operate as it is designed to. I still have to thread the machine. The thread snags at one particular spot, popping your thread mid sewing and the machine jumps up and down if it moves too fast. Don't buy.

I have to be threading the upper thread every 10 stitches, and yes , everything in the correct position, I followed every single step and still not working properly. This is the first time having lots of problems with a sewing machine
