Father Goose (Blu-ray), Olive, Comedy

I really love this film. It's an excellent outstanding film.

great war time movie/ comedy

Like Cary Grant. Then this is a much see and own DVD.

This was hilarious!! Cary Grant in one of his funnier roles. The banter with the kids as well as Leslie Caron was worth the price of admission. If your looking for a great movie to watch on a rainy weekend, grab your blanket and some ice cream and enjoy !

This is without a doubt one of the best moves I have ever seen. Cary Grant and Leslie Caron performance in this move is one of the best comedy acts I have sent. Out side of the Abbott and Costello meets Frankenstein move. I just wish they would had made A Father Goose two.

I love the movie, the actors are so good. They just don't make movies of this quality anymore.

A former teacher (Cary Grant) in the south pacific during the second world war has adopted the life of a loner islander with a penchant for relaxing with his booze. That is until he is "volunteered", by the british navy, to serve as a plane spotter when volunteers become scarce. He tries to do his time as a plane spotter or escape from the island on his own until he finds himself roped into harboring a female teacher (Leslie Caron) and her female students on his island. Between his loner lifestyle and drinking, her prime & proper demeanor and presence of the children, the comical tension is inevitable. A classic Cary Grant style comedy. I've always liked Father Goose.

Had this movie on DVD but it was water damaged so I needed to replace it. Fun family flick about an American recluse drunkard who is corhorced to be an coast watcher during the Second World War, spotting enemy aircraft and ships and report them to the British Navy. Sent on a mission to retrieve a fellow watcher from a nearby island, he finds that its occupied by seven young school girls and their school teacher who were stranded there and forced to bring them with him for their safety. If you're a Cary Grant fan, this is definitely a stray from his typical roles. No nice suit, gentleman like conduct here. Nope, he's clearly a rude, foul-mouthed, drunken, filthy beast which makes it even more entertaining. No special features on this disc, just the movie. It's even lacking on closed captioning or subtitles, which is why I removed a star, so don't get this particular disc if this is a requirement for you, but I did put this on my Plex Server and was able to find subtitles that sync with the audio. It did require some searching on my part though.
