This thing is awesome. Cuts the grass pretty short and gives me a good workout. Perfect for someone like me who is too short to use the ride-on mower.
Everyone said at the age of 70 I would not be able to push it. I got my front yard mowed in one day and it was easier than my push gasoline mower that never wants to run
I'm a senior woman, at 70 years of age. I chose to try using a reel mower after my gas mower died. It's a real workout but I don't mind. I don't have to be concerned with adding to the air pollution or maintaining another motor with gas refills, oil changes, spark plugs, or needed professional repairs. Best yet, it's a lot cheaper to own and operate. I'm not going to lie, you have to push and work harder, but it's worth it to me... And, if a 70 year old woman can, then anyone can!
I have a small yard, so an electric mower just didn't seem necessary and I definitely didn't want to have to worry about gas or maintaining a normal, gas-powered mower. This mower does the job, it's super light weight and easy to store out of the way. I just wish it would cut weeds.
Bought this because my rider died and cant figure how to get it running again so thought this wouid help in the mean time. Our grass had some height on it being in Florida, it grows fast and we have a large yard out in the country so this was not what i expected. we had one when i was a kid that we used by the lake and this did not compare at all. We had to go over each space back and forth like 5 times then move forward to do the same and the cutter did not always turn, it would skid we had to really press down and push with a lot of effort. Between my 13 year old son and myself we did not make much progress with this. So, returning it and will see if there is a better model or just stick to the weedeater until the rider is serviced . But I will also say that when it cut, it cut. I was excited at first. Maybe if it had some different wheels like the old school spokes with real tires instead of the plastic. I really wish it had worked as planned.
it does what it is supposed to. It is light, easy to push, the height can be adjusted, easy to put together. I wish it had the adjustment bolts on the bottom of the blade plate so I could adjust the blade cut but the preset is decent enough to get the job done.
I like that it does exactly what it's supposed to do: Cut the grass. But one of the springs broke on one of the wheels as soon as I made it to my backyard!
wheels get clogged with lawn trimmings and end up not turning at all. you have to manually pull the grass out.
I purchased this as a cheap backup for my battery powered mower. If it's raining, too late/early, or the battery dies, i wanted to be able to finish up with this. Pro's: Quick and painless assembly. comes with extra screws in case one is lost. delivery was on time. light weight, easy to push. Cons: The cutting reel cant handle anything other than pure grass. Twigs less than a half cm thick caused the mower to jam up. It jammed on pine needles too. In addition, this machine is NOT quiet. Less noise than an engine, but too much of a racket to use it in the early hours of the morning. Very disappointed. I'm going to try to see how much raking is needed to make it work. But if it takes too long, going to have to return it.
Not Worthy. Half cut or will not cut even after making adjustments. And I don't care for the handles.
