I have 2 of the seed feeders and love them. I get amazing photos of beautiful birds that I wouldn't usually see up close. Easy to install and get started, my only complaint is… not being able to delete or cancel video request that doesn't work, other than that I wouldn't complain at all. . I LOVE IT AND MIGHT BUY MY 3rd one
I got one of these amazing feeders as a gift over the winter, and it's been so awesome getting to track all of my backyard visitors, not just the few I was seeing here and there while home. I knew some of the birds I've logged lived here, but now I can put a photo to them! It's neat seeing the migratory birds filter in as well as my year-long friends. I also have several squirrels and a pair of raccoons that visit, so it's fun to see them too. 10/10 gift, it brings me so much joy!
This is my second purchase. First feeder was destroyed by squirrels. Had to remove a large bush that was damaged in a storm, but was also providing a launching space for them to get to my feeder. Never knew they ate plastic. Without that bush and with moving my other feeders further away from the Feathersnap, the squirrel baffle is working to protect this one. Love seeing the variety of birds coming to the feeder again.
The feeder is super easy to use and clean. I have had both squirrels and raccoons because we live in a forest area. One of them or maybe both I'm not sure eating the plastic bottom of the feed area. Also, one of them decided to try and eat the cover of the camera. It's a life long battle. I love my birds though so I fight! I get some GREAT PICTURES so it's well worth it!
This was a Christmas gift from my husband. It's awesome. It's different than usual birdwatching, since different birds go to the feeders. You'll Learn to identify birds up close snd see views of birds you don't normally see: the blue eye ring on a mourning dove, the “scaly” neckfeathers on a common ground dove, etc. The hairless ears of an eastern ground squirrel versus a fox squirrel. Yeah, you'll need to use a baffle or something to keep squirrels from staking out the feeder. And occasionally, videos get hung up. Otherwise, it's awesome.
I love my feeder, but this is my second one. The first fell apart because a cat hung from the perch and broke it off. The Universal mounting bracket doesn't seem strong enough to support the feeder when it's complete filled with seed. This time. I put a heavy pot underneath so cats couldn't jump up and hang from it, but it still droops. The camera is amazing and it brings me joy.
the feeder seems well made but I get tons of false notifications a day. I have gotten 12 notifications today and not a single one of them had a hummingbird in the shot. It also thinks that my dog and my husband are hummingbird visitors when they go in and out the back door. This product should be smart enough to tell the difference between people, dogs and birds. I don't like that you have to request videos from the snaps. It's not the worst thing ever but kind of a pain. The false notifications are super disappointing.
It seems I have an AI working with me instead of a human being, but he was working great till I switched phones now it doesn't work at all. It was so wonderful at the start, but I don't think I'd recommend anybody really was great until I quit working there's just no correspondence with the people no service after the sale this technology they're doing the best they can but it just sucks on my end.
I bought this hummingbird feeder for my wife for Christmas last year (2025) and just put it up two days ago for the arrival of hummingbirds. Solar panels charge the battery fine and camera works fine. . . . . but the two piece base leaks like a sieve. It will not hold fluid and drains quickly.
Good camera, HORRIBLE feeder. Bought one for my mother-in-law and one for myself. The seed would not dispense from either feeder. My mother-in-law had a small finch try to climb up into the feeder to get to the seed and the seed let loose and buried the finch. My husband modified my feeder so that the feed would dispense; however, I had a blackbird get it's foot caught between the retractable perch and the feeder. It's leg was broken and badly damaged. This is not a safe product for birds.
