Does Size Really Matter?...

RFuqua April 3, 2015

Selecting a product such as compressed air can be difficult as they all seem to be the same at first glance. Products like these are frequently selected only based on price, convenience, or brand allegiance. But, there is more information that can & should help. I originally selected the Fellowes Duster because it was physically larger than the brand next to it. I figured a larger can meant more physical content which would make the can last longer. But, upon later examination, I discovered that (in this case) BIGGER IS NOT BETTER. The smaller can had the same contents & higher pressure. Examples: The Fellowes Duster forces 10oz into a can 8.5 inches in height. This produces 85 psi of pressure. The MicroCare MCC-DST forces the same 10oz into a much shorter can. This produces 100 psi of pressure. The Dust-Off Duster forces 12oz into a can 8.8 inches in height and produces 87 psi. A smaller can means more space available in my drawers at work. Can size may also be an indication of waste. If the same contents fit into a smaller can, purchasing the Fellowes Duster is unnecessarily wasteful. Reduce the raw materials you are consuming. Then recycle it when you are done. The Fellowes Duster works just fine - I do like the product. But, now that I have more information - I will be selecting the smaller can.

Used to love this product.....!!

IlioBoy August 26, 2014

As computer & ops mgr for a real estate company with several offices in DC area, I have used Fellowes Duster (compressed air) for years - and for everything - and yet in the last several months something has happened. The cap on the top of the can comes completely off when you press the trigger for use!! So, you end up taping it back on or holding it on while spraying. Assembled in the USA from foreign components - wherever the cap is assembled onto the top of the can - there is your problem area.....find it, fix it or plan to lose out on this once wonderful product.....!!
