That being said it has a great front load that holds an exceptional amount of staples so large stapling projects I don't need to reload. Fits comfortably in my hand and uses minimal force for a stapler. I can easily staple a 1/8" stack of paper upto 1/4" or more with same force and no strain. I have not experienced any jams yet, and the overall quality is robust and well built with not much plastic so I know it can take a drop now and then. Sits on the desk neatly and has a hole for hanging on the shop wall when not needed. If you are looking for a quality stapler Fellowes does not disappoint!

As a teacher, sometimes we have to create packets for students with lots of paper and this stapler is just perfect for this. For my particular class, I collect all classwork from students every quarter and we staple it together and it goes in each student folder. Thanks to this new addition to my classroom, I only have to staple all their work once. It goes straight through and I don't have to worry about the papers coming apart. I DEFINITELY recommend this product - especially for the classroom and for work areas that staple large amounts of paper daily. But it is not at all unwieldy when you pick it up and use it - quite the contrary! It fits beautifully in my hand, and is super easy to use. Of course, I had to test the claim that it could staple 40 sheets together. They are not exaggerating - it handled 40 sheets with ease, and was not difficult to do. The loading was very intuitive (believe it or not, I have seen staplers that were not!). Although the cost may seem high, the quality is so far above the other ones I have seen on the market, that I would say it is worth it. You will have this stapler long after your other ones have gone to the dump. In fact, I fully expect to take this one with me when I retire from teaching. I have a long reach stapler, but I couldn't staple as many as 40 pages until I got to use the XL890! I use it for everything. When I need to print twenty or more pages it's perfect. When the kids want to create a book in class this stapler is the perfect stapler to use. I also love how it staples through plastic really well. This is the stapler I don't let my co-workers use. I have been using the same stapler in my classroom for 20+ years. I had no idea that newer models could make the frustrating task of assembling packets for students so easy. No jams, easy to load extra staples, ergonomic and added protection with the Micorban Antimocrobial Technology! It makes quick work of stapling multiple packets in my classroom. While the LX890 is heavier than my traditional stapler, it's a workhorse. Quite easy for me to use, without the need to exert extra force for even a larger, 40 page packet. Due to the weight and size, it can be tricky for my 3rd graders to maneuver- a simple fix is to have younger users stabilize the stapler on the table and then they are on their way!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this stapler to staple about 50 sets of tests together. It did not jam. My hand grew tired after a while but that might be my age. I like the way it stands several different ways on my desk. I usually have it standing up. It took me a while to find out how to open the staple part of the stapler. Once I discovered how to do it, it was quite easy. The staples loaded quickly. I received this stapler for free to try out. I recommend this stapler to someone who will be stapling a lot and may need to fasten large sets of documents. The stapler has micro ban to keep you from spreading germs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing that it will staple 40 sheets! (Yes, I counted out 40 sheets and tested it!- stapled perfectly!!) One issue is that the information states "Easy, one touch front loading staple design" - but it turns out that you must push down a place on the BACK, which is NOT easily discovered...I kept pushing, tugging, trying to move something on the FRONT; did look at the back, but didn't see the little mark indicating to push down back there. I finally looked it up on the website and watched the video! Very simple once you know how. (Asked another person how they'd expect to load it; they didn't figure it out either.) Suggest they highlight the "Push Here" mark so it can be easily seen and understood & mention it in the instructions on the box. A very nice stapler.

I might not want my younger students to use this as it is more complicated in set up. However, the fact that it can staple up to 40 sheets of paper and has Microban protection makes it good for the classroom or office.
