The Fellowes Neptune3 125 Laminator is really a great step up for my home. One of the best features of the Neptune3 is that it is ready to laminate in one minute. My old unit took about 5 minutes! The ability to laminate standard size paper up to 11”x17” is a fantastic feature for preserving documents or large presentation projects. This laminator auto senses the thickness of the laminating pouch. The directions state that the unit will properly laminate pouches 3mm to 7mm thick. It does recommend that the use of 3mm, 5mm, or 7mm pouches for optimal performance. Basically the operation consist of plugging in the unit, turning on the main power switch in the rear of the unit, the push the on button in the front and wait for the unit to signal ready. All that is left to do is place your chosen document in the appropriate pouch and feed into the laminator. Honestly, the hardest part of setting up the unit was putting on the wire exit tray. Hint: Place in the slot just below the laminate exit slit and press down firmly. I have been favorably impressed with the ease and speed of operation. This unit is perfect for my needs, but should you wish to use thicker than 7mm laminating pouches: Fellowes has an entire line of laminators named after planets and a couple of them can use thicker pouches. I would recommend this laminator for home or small office users.
If you are looking for a home office laminator, you should seriously consider the Fellowes Neptune3 125 Laminator. With dimensions of 4.5"x20"x6.75," it fits easily on most desks or work-spaces. Not only is it easy to set up and use, I was surprised by how quiet it was. It warms up and is ready to use in right at a minute, and it's surprisingly fast, and can laminate documents or project up to 12.5 inches. Self-adjusting it can laminate pouches up to 7 mil thick, offers a choice of either hot or cold lamination, and will laminate up to 24 inches a minute. The reverse feature allows you to easily eject the project, if there is ever a need to re-center or remove it completely. It will automatically move into its sleep mode and then into standby should you fail to turn it off, but all you have to do is hit the power button and it will be up and running again in less than a minute. Fellowes Heat Guard Technology helps keep the system cool to the touch. Also has carrying handles and an tray that will hold your finished work, keeping it flat. The carrying handle makes it easy to move if the need arises. I would highly recommend this laminator.
The Fellowes Neptune 3/125 Laminator is a very well-made and solid unit. It weighs 14 pounds and is 4.5" high 20" long and 6.75 deep. It has a 1200 watt heating unit and uses 10 amps of 120V 60 Hz Ac power. The laminator is very easy to use and understand. The Neptune 3/125 comes with a feature refereed to as "Auto Sense". This system automatically detects the laminating pouch thickness and the self-adjusts the unit for optimal results. It will except laminating pouch thickness from 3 mil to 7 mil. Maximum entry width is 12.5 inches. Arrows on the front loading slot are set for Photo,Letter and menu/A3. Simply line up the laminating pouch with the arrows and apply gentle initial feeding pressure and the rest is automatic. The completed laminated document is now delivered to the exit tray located on the back of the unit. The exiting tray protrudes from the back of the machine by 10 and one quarter inches. You will need approximately 16 and 1/2 inches of desk or shelf space to allow for the width of the unit and the exit tray. The Neptune 3/125 has a Reverse Function,Sleep Mode,Heat Guard and Auto Hot/Cold selector button that lets you toggle between hot and cold laminating. This is an office grade laminator and is well made and thought out. As with all heat activated laminators the unit is warm to the touch after use. When the unit is initially turned on the standby button will glow blue. By pressing the stand-by button the Auto Display light will come on. The Auto Display button will turn solid in color and you will hear a beep when the laminator is ready for use. Lamination is a heating process and after your document has been laminated it will remain warm to the touch for a few minutes. The machine has an automatic cool down feature and you can hear a high pitched fan noise for the duration of this cool down cycle. This is the only negative feature of the unit otherwise the machine is very quiet. I would highly recommend the Neptune 3/125 laminator for anyone in the market for a well-designed,feature rich, office quality, heavy duty laminator.
After receiving the Fellowes Neptune3 125 Advanced 4-Roller Laminator. It was better than I expected. I read directions to set up. Only took a few minutes. True to its ad, it warmed up in 1 minute. I used a few pouches from the included Laminating Starter Pack. It did a beautiful job of laminating my Warranty Card and a sign for my Pool House in the back yard. Trimmed both to size and was very pleased with the outcome. There are unlimited uses for this machine. I would recommend this to anyone. I was kind of tired going to the office supply store to pay for laminating my items. I give this one 5 Stars!!
I was so excited to receive this product-- we have been wanting to get one of these for awhile for all my kids artwork and some other documents we have. It was very easy to use, simply power on and feed the plastic packaging through with your document inside. The one thing I would advise is giving it time to heat up all the way, otherwise you will have to re-feed your documents to ensure the entire thing is sealed. I would definitely recommend this product for multiple uses (Personal, office, etc)
The Neptune3 125 Laminator is one if NOT the best Laminator out in the market these days, you are probably wondering to yurself,do they still make those?Yes,they do,that is why you are reading this review and yu will not be sorry for doing so.I have been usimg it now for a little over week and I have to say with this product and their pcocketed envelopes,*IMPORTANT* DO NOT BUT ANY OTHER LAMINATING POCKETS EXCETPT MADE BY FELLOWES..I reall can not stress that point enough, the system is very senstive and I would follow what it says, after what I have seen with the projects I have done with it,the quality of sealing and the way no water can get it,things are very well protected, say yu are a comic book collector and want to have one sealed, this laminator is for you,I have tried t with a special magazine it wprked beautifully, and by mistake, you forget to add something to the packet, there is a reverse buttom, talk about genius, right? I love this Laminator and very happy with my choice it has a cool down and always be safe,I rerally love the safety features it has there is a blue color for cool of course right and red for hot laminating as well. If you are looking for a great Laminator this is the one for you and your family,I am already on my third package of pockets,if that tells you how great this is:) HAPPY LAMINATING TO ALL:)
If you love to laminate as I do you must have this machine!!!! I have owned many laminators before this one always before you sat and waited for it to warm up on this Neptune3 125 gets warm in about 30 seconds well under a minute. It is wide enough for most normal projects all you have to do is put your item in the laminating pouch then insert it into the laminator closed end first and it does everything else for you. This laminator has a release in case of a jam I did not need this feature I laminated many documents without and failures or problems of any kind. I even dug out a letter I wrote to Santa when I was a young boy to laminate I never trusted any of them I had used in the past but this one worked perfect as you will see in the pictures. If you want a quality laminator buy this one it is well worth the price if you are half as happy as I am with this machine you will not regret buying this one!!!!!!
This laminator takes just seconds to set up and use right out of the box and does a great job. Once it is plugged in and turned on it takes just a minute to warm up, so by the time you place your item(s) in the provided lamination pouch (a sample pack of 10 pouches is included with the unit), you are ready to go. The machine will beep and the auto button will go from flashing to solid green to let you know that it is ready to receive your pouch to laminate. Then you just carefully guide in the pouch straight into the unit until you feel it grab it and then it does the rest. The lamination process takes less than a minute to complete as it self guides your project onto the exit tray to cool (which it is barely even warm to the touch and is cool in seconds). The unit is quite wide and does require space not only in width, but a minimum of 20" behind the unit for the exit tray. So you need to make sure you have ample space to operate the unit properly. This unit is designed to use with pouches that are 3, 5, or 7 mil thickness, so is ideal for preserving photos, paper documents, or paper school projects for example. The unit is virtually silent when operating, but you will smell a slight melting plastic type odor when in use. The unit will also be warm to the touch on the surface, but is designed to not get hot enough to burn. The machine will go into a sleep mode if not active for 30 minutes and has the ability to preform a cold lamination instead of hot by changing the settings. Overall this is a great product and is very easy and fun to use.
I am reviewing Fellowes Neptune3 125 Laminator . The laminator was larger than I anticipated, almost like you would see in a copy store. It came with a package of laminating sheets. Its fairly heavy and does take up space. The first time that I used it was only laminating a few small ID type cards so I cut off some of the laminating material to save the rest to save the rest of the paper. I cut off the folded end which was a big mistake. The laminating paper and the ID cards got jammed into the machine. It was entirely my fault. It looks like you need to always keep the folded part and that needs to go into the machine first. When I tried again with just the 2 little cards there was no enough weight for the cards to move through. I took it apart and put a 1/4 sheet of paper near the fold and the cards below. That worked! If you follow the directions it runs fine. It is not something that children should operate as it gets quite hot.
I was a bit surprised of the weight of this machine ( a little heavy), but once I plugged it in and saw how impressively fast it heated up, I was impressed. Having the 4 rollers is a plus, as it pulls the item (business card, certificate, luggage tag), through with such ease. It determines what size and which of these you are putting through on it's own. So there's no pressing a menu button to change the size, each time you change what your laminating. Nice. If your a person who does a lot of laminating or not so often, then this is the perfect machine to have in your office or at home.
