[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little shredder is mighty. The continuous automatic feeder saves so much time I don't think I will ever go back to manual shredders. It runs smoothly and can even shred staples and paperclips. The only drawback I see is that the container that holds the shredded paper has a lip at the top and when I empty out the paper a few pieces of paper get stuck on that edge. I have to wiggle it to get all the paper out. Not a deal breaker though. The shredder runs fairly quiet and can be moved around effortlessly or stationed in place by locking the front wheels. Great product overall.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When the new shredder arrived I was pleased with its design, it looks good in the office and I was hoping that it wouldn't be as loud as the last shredder we had. When I was unboxing the unit I was pleasantly surprised with the auto feeder because I didn't realize the shredder we got had one. After I plugged it in and figured out how to use it, I was very happy with the way that the auto shredder works...sometimes it is even a little fun to watch how the thing sorts and feeds odd sized junk mail pieces as it feeds them in. The best thing is that you can empty the unit with a drawer instead of taking the head off, it creates less mess and it even shreds to a smaller size than our last shredder. All in all, a really nice machine! I received this product free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shredder has more capacity than smaller shredders, but takes very little space. It runs quietly, and operation is utterly intuitive. Do be sure to follow operation guidelines in order to avoid paper jamming. I am a fan.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First a disclaimer: I received this product free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. Fellowes was nice enough to offer this free shredder even though my existing Fellowes 8C shredder was working perfectly well. Quite frankly I like my new shredder better. It has a greater capacity, can shred 11 as opposed to 8 sheets at a time, and has a much larger viewing area to monitor when the shredder needs to be emptied. I have been able, despite a hurricane, to test out the new shredder sufficiently to note that it has not jammed, failed to do what it was supposed to according to the brochure, and has been thus far reliable. Will it continue to do so in the future? Time will tell. My old Fellowes has performed quite well and has been trouble free. I have applied Fellowes Performance Oil regularly and will continue to do so with the new shredder. A well maintained machine should last and this shredder should not be an exception. I would recommend this product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. However, this is my second Fellowes shredder because I specifically only buy Fellowes brand, due to their durability. I absolutely love this one because it's so quiet compared to my last one. I also like that it has a bigger container to hold more before dumping. I definitely would recommend this shredder to anyone!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LX70 handled everything I threw at it and came back for more. It claims to handle paper, staples and credit cards, and it did. The shredder is rated for 11 pages, it would slow down as you approached the rated limit. A recommended shredding session was 5 minutes and I never had the unit overheat.. It did have a bit of difficulty in handling my health insurance cards that were a thinner and more flexible plastic, the first one I fed through was only partially shredded. I put the second in a paper envelope and it was totally shredded. The 4.8 gallon bin is a nice touch, you will hold a full shredding session with ease. I received this product free of charge in exchange for my fair and unbiased review.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had Fellowes shredders since I became an adult. I keep one to shred all my important paperwork that contains any personal information. I currently own a 9C, but was offered a chance to participate in the Sampling Program and was sent an LX70 to review. It is altogether a better machine than the 9C. The LX70 has a larger storage compartment for the shreds, the machine runs quicker and IS quieter, but the noise is also a bit higher pitched on this machine...which took some getting use to. It is extremely sufficient, does not appear to jam (haven't had the ability to make it yet at least!) and performs as good, if not better than expected as a product of Fellowes. I received this product free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] "I received this product free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review" I use this to shred previous financial records, so use can be 5 minutes or more. After approx. 100 sheets, this shredder performs a bit better than the C9 model purchased in March. The LX70 appears to jam less if a sheet is inserted slightly crooked (easy to do on the previous machine). The shredder blades are a different design, and the switch that starts is slightly deeper in the insertion throat giving one a better chance of feeding the pages straight. Time will tell if this model is superior with higher volume and longer continuous run time.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my shredder and started setting it up. Inside the box was a small piece of black plastic. I discovered that when the shredder wouldn't turn on, that this was a piece of the paper bin that acts as a “safety switch” so that the shredder can turn on when properly put together. I am disappointed because I got this shredder free for testing and reviewing their new model and now I can't use it. I received this product in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
It quit working on the day I purchased the unit. It will reverse, but the auto doesn't work so I can't shred anything. Since the reverse works I don't think there is a jam. It's not overheated, because I went on vacation for a week and it still didn't work when I came back. A waste of my money.
