We needed a robust shredder that would cut paper and cardboard in small pieces for composting. This is a strong shredder that performs really well. I don't think I have seen it overheat yet. It is a workhorse. We have had it for a few months now and it's going strong. It also looks nice. Its aesthetics are not an eyesore, so we keep it at a visible location. One thing to keep in mind when shredding cardboard. The shredder needs to sense material as if it is the full width of a sheet of paper. Once it gets going, varying widths of cardboard can be inserted. You can trick the shredder by hitting the correct switch at the feeder input.

This paper shredder has a great sheet capacity and quietly and effortlessly shreds paper. Very happy with it, although I wish it had been designed with the paper entry parallel to the bin's pull-out handle. Also, the manufacturer's recommendation to oil the shredder every time after emptying the bin was a surprise. Finally, the bin is difficult to empty into a bag by one's self.

I purchased this shredder for an extremely busy small business accounting office over a year ago and I have yet to notice anything to complain about. This is a tough machine! It's able to handle all of our shredding (sometimes it sounds a little mad if we add too many papers at a time), but it has never jammed! This shredder plows through staples and credit cards (we shred our expired ones.) When I took over this position, my predecessor wanted to take the Fellowes shredder home with her as a retirement present. When it ended up failing (after many, many years of use), we purchased this one. I plan on asking for it as my retirement present if it's still going strong! All of my future shredders will absolutely be Fellowes's brand!

This shredder is very impressive! It can shred up to 20 sheets at once and there is no need to take the staples and paperclips off your papers, as they are able to go through the machine with ease. I love that it shreds everything enough that I don't ever have to worry about anyone being able to retrieve any of my information after being shredded. It helps give me piece of mind! It is even able to shred bank/credit cards just as well as the paper! There is a 15 minute cool down period that is needed if used for 30 minutes consecutively, but is works fast so there is a lot that is able to be done in that 30 minutes. **I received this free of charge for reviewing purposes. I have had the LX220 shredder since November 2020 and it has not jammed or failed ever. It makes the papers into confetti where it cannot be put back together for reading.

I love this shredder as it's quiet and does fine cut shredding. I'm disappointed by the fact that I had difficulty using a bag. The bags that I used for my old Fellowes Shredder just tear apart as I closed the shredder drawer. I attempted to use the heavier duty bags that I received with this shredder, and they do not secure very well with the drawer, causing them to fall to the bottom of the drawer. I'm now using the shredder without a bag; however, it can be messy, as I remove the drawer and empty into a bag. I'm also disappointed that this shredder does not shred CDs.
