Can't wait to use it with my fusion radio on the boat .
I’ve only had it about a week, haven’t figured out all the cool things it can do, but the few I have I love. Let’s talk training effect - knowing if you’re progressing or maintaining your aerobic and anaerobic ability. Knowing how much time to take to let your body recoup between intense workouts. Haven’t explored the Maps yet but looking forward to it.
I have always been satisfied with Garmin. I tried Apple Watch for a couple of months and it did not compare. I really don't have any complains! The only feature I would like to be worked on is the sleeping feature! It would be neat to be able to manually go to sleep mode like the first Vivoactive! I usually have to find third party apps to take count of my sleep time, wake up, and sleep averages. Besides that team Garmin all the way!
I recently purchased the fenix 5S Plus and couldn't be more happy with this investment. It tracks everything from my kickboxing classes to morning spin, trail runs on the weekends, to afternoon open water swims. I love it. Very happy. Excited to try it on a hike this summer.
I just made the switch from my apple watch to the garmin and I love it! I got the rose gold because I wanted something I could wear all day that looked nice but could still function with all of my activities. One of my favorite things is the battery. Coming from a watch that I had to charge daily, this is definitely a huge upgrade for me. I'm on day 3 and still have about 65% left. There are many features on here I have yet to really tinker with, but I know they will help enhance my training.
I bought this for my New Years present and because the band on my old fit bit broke. It is certainly an upgrade! There are so many features and ways to customize I was a bit overwhelmed at first. This is a watch for serious athletes!! I am not one of those, but I chose this watch because it had buttons instead of the touch screen like Garmin’s more specific (less expensive) workout watches. So far I really like it. The two things I have had problems with are that it was difficult to pair with my iPhone on initial set up. No problems since, my fingers are crossed. And I had thought this watch came with the feature of seeing the workout animations when you uploaded a program. I am not sure if this watch doesn’t support this feature, although I thought it did. Or if it’s an other issue. This was one of the features I was really looking forward to on this watch so it is a bit disappointing I don’t have it.
I really thought it would have a brighter display, more colorful or at least a better resolution. For what I paid I actually expected something really classy and high quality ñ this looks like a cheap knockoff of what a Garmin watch should actually be!! I have to say I’m disappointed!!
I went from the Fenix 5S and loved it so I upgraded to the Fenix 5S Plus. I never had issues with the 5S but the 5S Plus has a really bad battery life. It used 2% immediately after charging. I spent a day at an Amusement park and only used the steps, HR, stress, clock functions and by the end of the day, the battery drained to 67%. On the 5S, it would take a couple days to use that much battery. Also, the watch kept having issues with the time, day, step count, and often started activities all on it own. I hope it can all be fixed with a software update.
Wanted to upgrade my Vivoactive for 2 reasons; battery life and the ability to drop pins on my routes. Wore my new 5s plus and it recorded 4+ miles more than both the trail sign's stated miles and my friend's Garmin 230, which was always within a tenth of a mile +/- of my Vivo. On a 20 mile hike 4+ miles is a huge margin of error. If the data my fenix provides is that off then the device is worthless to me. Additionally, the battery was at 25% after just under 7 hours of use. Changing the settings may improve battery life however leaving it at factory settings left me underwhelmed. Would love to post screen shots of the data acquired by both devices but this format doesn't seem to allow it.
What can I say, device looks great, expensive but Garmin never tested it on people with darker skin. The OHR doesn’t work at all. It won’t pick up my HR. I have a Vivosmart 3 & Vívoactive 3 Music & they both work just fine. Typical Garmin style they make their paying customers their beta testers.
