nice big deep cells for bigger or longer term seedlings. they dont sit exactly right in the tray but since i got them on a deep discount ill live with it. i wish it came with a lid to help trap humidity. i dont imagine theyll last more than a couple seasons honestly, but the ones that do last a decade or more are like 70$ a tray.
I love this! So convenient! This kit includes an 11" x 20" tray with 18 pots. Each pot is 3 inches deep and it is also wide. They are durable enough to use for several seasons if taken care of. Great for larger seedlings and allows them enough room to stay indoors longer before transplanting them. Affordable on a family budget.
For years I have used this cup s for gardening 🧑🌾 and I think I have done really good with them. Especially for cuttings. I highly recommend them for all types of plants and veggies.🥕
It takes so much time to start seeds on paper strips, move them to peat pots and then plant them into bigger pots before you can actually plant them where they will end up. When you use these to begin with you can just plant them and tend them until they are ready to go. Transplanting tiny seedlings kills a lot of them because they are so fragile so you do not want your move them more than you have to. These are the perfect size to go on my small greenhouse shelves. The tray they sit in waters the pots from below which keeps the roots moist and keeps you from damaging the seedlings when you water them. They are black so they attract heat. This is not super strong but if you take care of it I know it could last for many years.
I really appreciate the size of these. i started my annuals early inside, and like that, they won't need to be repotted before transplant. i also love that they can be separated easily, but the tray holds itself together well. I only wish it came with a dome.
These parts are great and for the sale price this past year of $5.88 you cannot beat that price at all
Love the larger cup sizes as these work well to leave my new seedlings in, to get strong and healthy, versus them getting too large in the smaller sizes and dying off. I'm not sure how reusuable these ones will be as the plastic is kind of thin. But, the smaller cups aren't easy to push/pull out without harming the smaller seedlings roots. IMHO, the smaller ones don't hold enough dirt to come out "neatly" in pod form.
These are effective for starting seedlings. However, I must warn that they are flimsy so handle with care. Now just because they are flimsy does not mean that they do not get the job done. They do get the job done, but you should have the correct expectations when handling them. When they arrive all the cells are joined together. I have found out through experience that handling them while still joined together is a challenge when they're filled with soil. So breaking them apart and handling them individually is more convenient for me. With that method, the flimsyness does not have any adverse impact. Once you get past this everything else about this planter becomes easy and routine. I will say that they are surprisingly durable for how flimsy they appear. I was expecting to use these for just one growing season but I have some still in service for three seasons. I have bought a whole lot more because of this. If you handle them carefully they will last you multiple seasons. If you handle them with the expectation of regular planters, then you might not be able to use them for more than one season. In my case they have survived summer, spring and winter for three straight years and are still being used as I write, so don't be fooled by how they look and feel. Just handle the cells individually instead of leaving them attached to each other. Do not step on them or squeeze them. For the price point and how long I have been able to use these, they are absolutely worth it.
I ordered this twice. The first time for next day delivery. The next day got an e-mail saying ordered cancelled, out of stock. I went online and it was there with same day delivery. I ordered it and it came but the top half with the pots is bowed. That means it can't be used for bottom watering which is essential. Very disappointed and plan to return.
product was warped on one end. the tray looked like it sat out in the heat for to long. Tried using a blow dryer to get out the deformity but that did not work. So all the water collected in the tray runs to the other end because of the warpage.
