This is a wonderful product and a great substitute for hamburger meat! At only $1.98 per roll and it's already seasoned ! I use this in place of ground hamburger meat all the time or even to stretch my hamburger meat I add a roll of this ground Turkey breakfast sausage!
I set aside some of this sausage for breakfast. Taste is amazing! I used the rest in my cornbread dressing for Thanksgiving. It put the dish over the top! I'll be using this from now on. I just bought two more. One for Christmas dressing and one for breakfast use.
This FESTIVE Turkey Breakfast Sausage roll is honestly unbelievable. For just $1.98? It tastes way better than any store-brand turkey sausage I've tried—juicy, perfectly spiced, no weird aftertaste. Crumbles great for eggs or patties. Frozen, easy to portion, and super affordable. If you're on a budget, grab it before it disappears!
Let's be honest, "mechanically separated" turkey can be gross sometimes. In the past I have had some downright disgusting frozen ground turkey from other companies that had an odd texture and an unpleasant and almost metallic/ bitter flavor. This Festive frozen Turkey does not suffer that problem. Both the unflavored and sausage versions of this turkey are great for meatloaf, chilli and tacos and anything else that calls for ground meat.
I made a chili last week with this turkey sausage and it tastes great! I intentionally did not break it up too much so it wouldn't get lost in my chili. This went a long way as it provided 6 hefty servings. I will buy this every time I need ground turkey.
Festive Turkey Sausage is really a good buy! I have found way to stretch a 1%23 chub into several different meals for the week! In a large electric fry pan, chop the turkey meat into small cubes. Chop up a large onion %26 half a pound of fresh mushrooms. Add to turkey sausage. Let the this all brown really well. Then add 3 c. unflavored almond milk, or 2% milk. Then add 1/3 c. flour, sprinkle it on %26 stir into liquid. Add salt %26 pepper to taste. I also add a good sprinkle of nutmeg (optional) and garlic powder, (not garlic salt). The nutmeg enhances the flavors! Stir the flour into the liquid to prevent flour lumps. Then add 2-4 cups frozen peas carrots! Stir until gravy thickens! It tastes exactly like Swedish Meatballs in gravy!! Can use this mixture for several meals! Gravy on biscuits, on toast, over rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles! Very versatile, lots of healthy vegetables, affordable AND delicious!!
Should the meat be grey? IDK. It didn't smell off, but the grey color was rather off putting. I used this sausage in a big pot of spaghetti sauce and no one got sick or died. In fact, it tasted pretty darn good. The color alone, though is enough to prevent me from ever buying FESTIVE brand sausage again.
It seemed like it was mixed with water. The texture was not even like meat, and it doesn't hold its shape. There is a serious lack of seasoning, too. This can be a good base for a scramble or something but on its own it's pretty terrible. Even with the price point difference, it's worth it to get another brand.
it might be ok to mix into a dish or chili, but to patty out for breakfast is a no-go! hard to form into patties, slimy and not even working for me on an egg, cheese and sausage muffin. Trying to cut pork out of my diet, so i guess its Brown N Serve turky breakfast links, and Oscar Meyers turkey bacon.
This is like tossing 2 bucks into the garbage can. This is garbage meat. Its absolutely the worst meat Ive ever encountered. it smells bad, tastes bad and even it you add stuff to firm it up so you can make meatloaf or a hamburger patty it still falls apart and wont take shape. Its like that pink slime they try to pass off as being real meat! No amount os seasoning or ingredients can fix this crap meat Thats my very honest review! I highly dont recommend it not even the sausage thsts gross too!
