Field Tuff 12V ATV 80lb Load Capacity Broadcast Seed & Fertilizer Spreader

Connected to the back of my 6x6 Polaris ranger. Came with hitch that matched perfect. Had to assemble which was not bad to do with instructions. This unit is built sturdy and easy to work. Spreads salt great. The only thing I would change is the top two bolts on side to eye bolts so that can connect top end using couple straps to bed sides to keep side to side swaying down. I modified mine by changing out the shift door slide cable and added wiring to bring the shifter and motor switch to inside cab. Now I can control everything from inside cab easily. I would also add a small type light to the unit so can see when salt runs out in dark snow removing. I would run the wire with the motor this way comes on and off with motor. This is just my idea set up otherwise great product. Will buy again if needed. Thanks

Appears to be ok but haven't had a chance to use it until the Spring. Hardware was loose in the box.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ordered this product to help speed up planting grass. I live in an area where we have summer grass and winter grass, so it can understandably be a pain to do this by hand. Works great, very efficient and would recommend.

Needs a more powerful motor. If there are any clumps in fertilizer at all it will stop working until you unclog it. Works better if not full. When it does work broadcast is good. Spreads evenly.

I see a few lower reviews and wanted to give my two thumbs up. It went together just fine. I use it with a receiver on a golf cart and use it to spread seeds for food plots. For the price, I don't see how you could beat it. I used a couple rachet straps to support it to the cart. Corn to clover spread fine. I would stop and make sure it was spreading but no problems. With a little sheet metal additions to the side I was able to narrow down the spread area to limit the throw to about six foot wide for my food plot trails. Motor and electric system works fine. Had it about two years.

I got this product to spread fertilizer on my food plots for deer and specifically because it said it would mount on my JD Gator. First the bad - the box was missing the two braces needed to stabilize the fertilizer hopper. Plus the top of the hopper had a small break in it. I did get the spreader assembled and slid it into my receiver, I found that someone drilled the hole to slide the pin through too far back. So I had remove the U bolts that hold the bar that slides into the receiver, turn it sideways, mark holes on the undrilled side, and have new holes drilled so it would work. Now for the good - I called the company about the missing parts and they were very responsive. I got the missing parts very quickly. Once I got all of the problems solved, the spreader worked very well. It was easy to adjust and calibrate.

This spreader does not come with a hitch pin or pin clip and needs a mating connector and harness to connect to a battery on the ATV. The connector is very hard to find, so after spending about 20 dollars in gasoline trying to locate one without luck, I will cut the connector off and solder on a new one. Then, I will make a cable to connect to the battery. A lot of work when one expects to get a unit that can be used after assembly. I phoned Field Tuff about this and they quickly mailed me a cable, but it had the same problem.

I was very rudely told that I need to take it back to Walmart.
