Old gas furnace
House is one hundred yrs old. Not sure how long the furnace has been here. It rattles but still gives me heat. So I change the filter every three months. I want to take care of what I have.

Excellent basic filter
Excellent filter for you unit. I wouldn't recommend for homes with pets. But for non smoking %26 pet free homes (bless you if you have a pet) This is the one for you. Please change every 90 days, I will buy again!

Filters Are Bigger Than Size Listed
Be warned, these filters (at least this advertised size) are not the correct size. They are a bit wider, longer, and thicker. Longer would probably not matter, but wider and thicker makes them not slide into the filter holder on my furnace. When you hold thses 3M filters up to my existing filter, the bigger size is apparent. My furnace is brand-new so it is not some rusted-out old filter channel to hold the filter. I chose the correct size but they do not fit my furnace.
