Finish classic had negligible scent- I loved it my dishes did not come out smelling like perfume. The new finish detergents leave a STRONG perfume smell which is NOT something anyone would want on dishes. I can no longer find finish classic, so I will have to switch detergent brands which is a shame. I can't stand your other PERFUMED detergents.
These are what you are replacing the classic tablet with and they are horrible! My glassware already has started showing signs of etching and designs are being scrubbed of. The tablets I have used for years and never have had this problem (one time I tried cascade and they etched some glassware and I swore never to use them) These are going back to the store and I'll find another brand that won't change wants not broken. Bring back the tablets!
For such a premium-priced dishwashing product, Powerball Quantum has been incredibly underwhelming. The tablets do not dissolve properly, often leaving a gritty residue in the dispenser and on the dishes themselves. Even when they do partially break down, they fail to deliver a thorough clean—leaving streaks, spots, and in some cases, visible food remnants. Given the high cost and the brand's marketing claims, I expected far superior performance. Instead, I've found myself having to rewash dishes manually after every cycle. This product has not only wasted my money but also my time and water. Extremely disappointed and will not be purchasing again.
I have used this numerous times in the past and it always cleaned well. I have not had a dishwasher for a couple years but have one now and bought this product again. Three times using it and the dishes still have stuck on dirt. Some of the dishes didn't get clean, the others that looked clean when loaded now have food debris stuck to them. Simple items like a smear of mustard or catsup don't even come off. I have had to run the washer a 2nd time to get them clean. I have found the store brand detergents clean better than this. Not sure what happened to finish classic but whatever it is, it isn't good.
We used the Power packets for a few days and while they cleaned the dishes well they left an oder (not a fragrance, an oder) on our plasticware and in the dishwasher. It smelled like deodorant. We had to soak the plasticware in a baking soda to get rid of the smell! I can't in good conscience even give the remaining tabs away because I wouldn't wish the smell on anyone! I do NOT recommend these at all!
I'm so frustrated and disappointed. Bought these instead of the usual Quantam packs, now all of the dishes reek of their “fragrance”. I've run the dishwasher a second time with no soap in the hopes that the added rinse would remove, or at least dissipate the scent. No such luck. When I open my dishwasher it seriously smells like someone put a gas station air freshener in there, and the worst part is that allllll of the dishes now cause food/drink to taste like that scent. I'm concerned that this is permanent and I'm now going to have to throw out all the dishes from that load. If it tastes like that, it can't be safe for you. This is not acceptable and Finish leaving replies to customers that they're “sorry we didn't enjoy their fragrance” is insulting. You've ruined dishes, left a residue that we're likely ingesting, cost us more money during tight times… address the issue. Fix it, and own up to it. Big companies hurting their consumers and downplaying it for their bottom line is infuriating. Shame on Finish.
I'm so relieved to see these other reviews about the super strong and very annoying scent of this detergent. I have never had to return a dishwashing detergent because of the scent. My $50 hydroflask water bottle parts are almost ruined because it's been permeated by the fragrance from the detergent. My silicone spatula now permeated with fragrance makes my food smell like detergent!!
We liked Finish Classic tablets. So when BJs by us stopped carrying them, and started carrying the pouches of Finish Power, I thought there would be no issue. No one in my house can eat, drink, or cook in anything that has been washed with the Power pouches even once. We have tried to wash everything by hand to save whatever we could. It worked for everything except the plastic and Tupperware. We have to completely replace all of our storage and children's dishes. DO NOT USE THESE!
I have been using the rectangle powerball with the red circle for a while. I would go out of my way to bring some home. It was perfect because all the others would either not dissolve of they would make our Tupperware lids taste like soap. The new powerball liquid tabs are just like the others now. My silicone and plastic lids all taste like soap. All of our leftovers taste like soap. Hundreds of dollars literally down the drain. Please don't reply with you telling me my water temperature is too high. Same dishes, same dishwasher, same water but different tab.
I usually use the Quantum packs which I love but I messed up and ordered the wrong ones. These smell way too strong, and I can actually taste the fragrance in my food when I use stoneware dishes. It's very unsettling. Never had this issue with the quantum packs
