Been using Fire Liters for quite some time as a fireplace starter. With a bit of kindling, these prove to hold a flame to help get things started relatively easily. The latest purchase now sports a wafer shape as opposed to a square, but I see no less quality.

Catches fire well, about as good as newspaper; lasts the advertised amount of time. This is an updated version of an older product, and there are pros and cons: new version is easier to snap off each individual segment (they come kind of like chocolate bars, a bunch of segments fused together). But the older version burned longer. HOWEVER, the real kicker for me is the scent. It is pervasive, at times overpowering. Not a scent I enjoy. Everyone's preferred scents are different, though, so you should try smelling these before you buy to see if you're OK with it - because the scent will fill your entire home.

Although there are 192 small rectangular starters it takes a lot for than 1 to start at fire of dry seasoned wood. I found I had to use a whole block to get the fire started. Better off buying fire logs..
