Fire/Water Chest

Just what I needed for my grab and go document storage. Perfect size to store printed versions of important documents along with digital copies. Roomy inside, allows me to store a few additional personal items. I have thin hands so I will be wrapping something around the hard plastic handle if I need to carry it for more than a minute. No issues with opening and closing. Overall nice purchase

Our old safe was on its last leg and we needed something new. After looking around and considering a number of different safes, we decided on this one. It was a perfect choice! Meets our needs, easy to carry, and does not take up a lot of room in our small condo.

The fire proof chest is exactly as expected. Heavy duty, well built and the right size for my needs. The key to finding the right one for me was a bunch of research and paying close attention to the interior dimensions. They make several similar looking variations of this chest. I wanted a handle and enough interior space so a piece of paper (11X8.5) would lay flat. This one fits the bill. I've ordered some desiccant packs to keep the interior dry. There are a couple straps on the inside of the lid that should hold the desiccant pack.

This box is perfect for storing important family documents. In case of having to leave home in a emergence , it is a comfortable weight.

purchase his chest for my mom to hold some of her valuables and some cash handy for her. So easy to use lightweight, yet heavy enough that it feels sturdy. And the key lock is so handy even if you're visually impaired.

Well I just purchased the safe, opened fine, put what I wanted in it, closed and locked it and ALL was fine…!! Contrary to some reviews. Now, if it provides a safe storage unit in the case of a tragedy which I hope never happens my final review of the product may never be written. For now all is GOOD!

nice size, will work well for my needs

Really disappointed in the quality of these products. Bought the larger chest first, but the latch would not engage and the front latch mechanism fell off. Bought the next size down, the CHW 20101, because it looked similar to the one I bought several years ago. It's however smaller in a critical dimension, that prevents you from easily storing folders. The rubber seal on the lid also came off the first time I closed it and was creased between the lid and base. I would a different brand if there was something similar in this price range, but there is not. I would have gladly paid a little more to get a better product. At least I get basic fire and water protection.

For the most part it's good but the big latch that you pull to open it pops off a lot of the time and has to be snapped back in place. You have to snap it back in place a few times because this is what allows the safe to open. It's only snapped together so what do you expect? Sometimes we can't even turn the key to unlock it. But that has only happened once. I would recommend this brand but just not this particular model.

It is a good product, but item arrived with a dent on one of the corners. It was shipped that way since packaged box was undamaged. I think twice before ordering from SAMS's online.
