First Alert 1046856, 10 Year Battery Ionization Smoke Alarm

I trust my life with First Alert products, and this smoke alarm gives me the best bang for the buck for a no-frill smoke alarm that has a built-in 10 year shelf life battery inside. The alarm, when tested, is loud and easy to install, especially if you have had previous First Alert products as the mounting screw spacing is identical across its product lines throughout the years. That means no need to drill new holes into your wall or ceiling with its new base.

Excellent product exactly what I ordered. It fit right into the bracket that was on the ceiling. I didn't have to change anything at first. I thought it wasn't working, but you have to have it in the bracket for it to beep and it has a 10 year battery therefore I expect it's last a long time thank you Walmart.

Easy to Install; Looks awesome; and don't have to worry about it for 10 years. Replaces Battery-Operated unit that broke-down after 10 years of Changing batteries. This should be much less hassle. It's one of those Great Things to have, and hope you never have to Use. But the piece of mind is priceless.

I bought this to replace a “10-year” other brand that died after one year. It's a different style but was easy to install. No false alarms or dead batteries so far, after about a month.

I tested it and it works perfectly. It's loud enough if you have a fire you will definitely hear it and you don't have to worry about batteries because it lasts for 10 years.

10 years...install it and forget it...my last one lasted 12 years...could not be easier! Highly recommended!

the old first alert was 9 years old. the new one installs in the same screw holes, so installation was very easy.

This smoke detector was easy to install. The bracket fit directly into our old holes that were in place from the previous detector. Just know that this device is extremely sensitive. It is located in a hallway on the first floor. Almost every time anything is cooking on the stove, not burning, just cooking, the alarm goes off. It is very loud, and includes good instructions.

Seems like a good product but didn't work for me maybe a defect in the battery it can happen I returned to Walmart for a full refund or if you wanted you can mail it back

I'm sure it works great and lasts a very long time, but it flashes ALL NIGHT LONG and keeps me awake, and I was mandated to have a ten year battery smoke alarm in my bedroom, even though the one I had before was perfectly fine. I hate it. It wakes me up and keeps me up and disturbs my sleep.
