First Alert Bark Genie Automatic Ultrasonic Bark Control Device with Battery, Black

First Alert Automatic Bark Genie worked grat but I had to return it because it not only affected our dog but it bothered my wife. Says she could hear it. Our dog got traumatized by it and it was on the lowest level. Very good product otherwise. Would recommend it.

I have 3 border collies. I crate them for a couple hours while I get my morning work done. The youngest one always barks when he hears the vacuum cleaner get to the last room. I have used other things like bark collars which work, but after a few times he won't get into his crate if he has it on. I gave up getting after him because it meant running up and down the basement stairs to shut him up otherwise. And, if you can't be consistent, give it up. I decided to give the bark genie a try. I set it on medium and set in on a shelf in my dog room and always leave it on (everyone else in my family would forget to turn it on anyway). The first day he barked once and hasn't barked since. After he is completely trained not to bark in his crate, I'm going to hang it inside on my front door. They all bark when someone rings the doorbell. Then I'll try hanging it on my fence so that they will stop barking at the neighbors dog when he is out. I would certainly recommend trying this.

The Bark Genie has brought peace and quiet back into my life. The next door neighbors let their small, yippy dog bark nearly non-stop. This device has stopped the barking. Highly recommend.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for a family member having problems with a very aggressive and intimidating dog after finding out from the neighbor that lives on the other side of the neighbor with the aggressive dog how well this works.

This stops my Westie from barking. I think it hurts his ears though instead of just getting his attention. I keep it close by and only turn it on when he starts barking for silly reasons. I keep it off until needed because other sounds set it off. In all truth I wish it was a remote controlled item that had a small remote to control it. I do not set it off if a neighbors dog barks, because I don't want my Westie to hear this except when I want him corrected. If you use this to stop neighbors dogs from barking, please dont leave it on 24/7.

This has worked like magic! I have a mini dachshund who would bark like crazy any time I would leave the house, this product has completely stopped this. It has an off/on switch and 3 different degrees of intensity. The lowest setting has worked perfectly for me. The only problem I found with this is that it will go off at random noises like voices or heavy footsteps. So be careful! I always turn it off when I get home. Overall, great product. Job well done.

Definitely works, but scared my dog half to death. She didn't come out from under my bed for a whole day, not even to eat or use the potty. Just the site of it freaks her out, so we put it in a drawer. Now all we have to say is "do you want me to get the box?" and the barking stops, but she immediately tries to hide. On another note, the mic is very sensitive. Just speaking, my voice activated the unit and made it go off. I will be returning this item. I wanted a bark deterrent, which this was. But not at the cost of terrifying my dog.

I had huge hopes for this item. I have a bad neighbor who does not care about his dogs and lets them bark constantly. I hung it on the fence and they kept barking at it. I'm hoping that since both were barking at it that it just drowned out the signal. On the other hand we have a small inside dog and when someone knocks on the door she does not like it and stops barking immediately.

Okay so it did stop my dogs from barking when I wasnt home .... however it made them shake when I was home cause even TV set it off so it was constantly sending out noise to stop them from barking .... it cant tell bark from other noises ..... Walmart refused refund and company never returned my call
