Easy installation, old units screws fit! Battery installation difficult.
Small, ease of use, blends well on wall.
does exactly what its supposed to do.
Works a bit too well, but I guarantee that it will wake me from a COMA if a fire occurs
Cute little thing. Directions are not easy to follow. But we finally got it together and so far so good, it hasn't alarmed yet!
I somewhat dislike the way to mount the alarm on the wall. It is in 2 pieces. I probably can't hang it the way I did my old one. On the old one, the mounting screws were inside of the alarm – it was a hinged - one piece. This one has to be hung the way you would mount the mounting section. The main alarm barely hooks onto the mounting section, therefore, if not mounted correctly, it could possible fall off the wall. I am not sure if I like the way the battery is installed. The battery is put in a door
This smoke alarm is way too sensitive. I took a shower with the bathroom door open and the steam triggered this alarm even though I have it installed in the bedroom (completely different part of the house). The alarm right next to the bathroom (different brand) never went off. In another instance, I walked out into my garage on a hot day and left the door to the house open for a few seconds. Another false alarm. The slightest bit of humidity will trigger this thing, and I'm tired of dragging out the ladder to quiet it. However, I have no doubt that it would pick up on the first sign of smoke. Still, I will be replacing it with something else.
I bought two of these for my house. 6 months later, during a fire inspection, both failed. Neither will let you test them, even though the light is saying it's working. Very disappointed.
