[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This first alert carbon monoxide and smoke detector in one works out very well, the packaging and the instructions are very easy to read knowing I had no issue hardwiring it whatsoever, the alarm is not overbearing and you are able to hear it all over the house and I would highly recommend this first alert product to anyone looking for a carbon monoxide or smoke detector. From my previous history of buying first alert products I knew this would be a no hassle install and use from the moment I purchased it.

The battery backup is a wonderful feature for those just in case moments should the power go out. We have multiple detectors throughout our home and it's very convenient to change the batteries. Should you need assistance, First Alert is very helpful and kind. They have their customer's best interests in mind and that is very comforting. Nevertheless, I highly recommend First Alert hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. You won't regret it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This monitor was very easy to install. It includes the adapters needed to retrofit existing wiring. All you do is mount the plate, select which adapter might be needed and plug in. It even comes with a battery. Hopefully I never have to hear it go offf, but based on the quality construction I have no doubt it will be reliable. Other than replacing the batteries I don't see us needing to replace this sensor for years. We had builder grade alarms in our home and they would randomly go off but since putting these in we haven't had any issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced my old smoke detector by my kitchen in the hallway with the First Alert Hardwired Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector and it fit perfect in the same space with no extra space that had to be covered, very easy replace,, just clipped the new wires to the old ones in the ceiling and it was ready to go. And now I can get rid of my carbon monoxide detector on my kitchen counter, I have two in one device now and its perfect. I love the fact it has an alert to let me know when its time to replace, what a great safety feature!

It has all the proper hardware to install it easily and it does install easily. When this detector goes off it is more than loud enough to get your attention! There is no way you'll miss it! I have no worries that it will hold up for a long time. It seems to be plenty durable and there are no cheap components. After I installed it we tested it and it worked in the first test. I now have 2 on each floor. It may be a little over kill, but a few years ago, we had a fire, that started in my sons bedroom. He woke up to his room in flames. I wish we would of had this then. You can never be over prepared. This is a great product and communicates with all of the hardwired smoke detectors. Great investment, I highly recommend that everyone should have a few of these in the house.

I love that I finally only have to have one detector that works for both smoke and carbon monoxide. I truly feel safer in my home knowing I am protected with this detector. It was super easy to install since we previously had wired detectors throughout our home. It was literally a matter of a few wire connections and up it went. I love that it has a 10 year lithium battery in case of power outage and that it has a locked drawer to prevent tampering. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is in the market for a new smoke and carbon monoxide detector as you will not be disappointed in this one.

The online ad for this smoke alarm indicated -- both in writing and with the pictures -- that this alarm came with three adapters to ensure the buyer's ability to install it easily without further purchases. It did not come with three adapters, just one, and it was not the one I needed. I returned the alarm and was issued a refund. I'm sure the alarm itself is good, but I needed the correct adapter -- which costs another $25 dollars bought separately.
