I like Fiskars. This is no exception. I'm quite sure that this will last a long time, as long as it's used properly and taken care of properly. NOTHING lasts if not used properly! This is a machete/pruning tool not an axe or prying device. Small branches, briars, cat tail reeds and ornamental grasses. NOT Fire wood or large trees. Small sassafrass, yes. This is sharp right out of the package. You can use this for many purposes but keep in mind that this is a thin blade not a hatchet. This should last longer than you think. The only problem you might have, is sharpening the hook blade. This is a very good tool for the trail, garden, around the house and in the field. SgtWall USMC
this is an excellent alternative to a camping machete and a folding saw.
Much shorter than a standard machete blade, but weighted to give power to shorter strokes. You can't beat a 24" blade for overall chopping, but this delivers power in confined spaces. It took about 15 minutes to get the "feel" of the proper swing. After that, very easy to work with.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I JUST TRIED OUT MY FISKARS BILLHOOKSAW TO CUT DOWN MY DEAD ROSE BUSH. IT DID A GREAT JOB. IT COMES WITH A CASE TOO COVER IT TOO. IT IS A VERY HIGH QUALITY CUTTING TOOL FOR YOUR YARD NEEDS. I WILL TELL ALL MY FRIENDS ABOUT IT. ITS A GREAT PRODUCT.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just moved into my house last year and still need to remove alot of weeds, small trees and etc. When I received this to try out I wasn't very sure if it would get the job done. Well let me tell you this Billhook Saw is amazing. The saw was already sharpened upon arrival so getting out in my back yard to remove small trees and etc was so easy using this. I had to go out and buy another one just so my boys could help out as well.
The machete blade is nice and sharp. The saw part is not. I found the hook to be more useful than I anticipated. Sturdy and comes with a nice case.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This saw is much larger than it seemed in photos. It's heavy duty and robust. The machete side is extremely sharp, so the thick canvas sleeve is great to keep it safe and protect from injury when not using. As for the saw side, the teeth are coarser, and the blade is quite thick. I prefer a much thinner blade for trimming tree branches. Overall, it's a solid product, and would be great for maintaining densely wooded or overgrown plants. I'm not sure how useful it is going to be for a more manicured yard and ornamental landscaping.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This blade is nice for cutting small kinbs and hedges. The curved tip prevents hitting it and dulling the blade and can also be used to pull limbs. My only con is that the blade could be sharper so when cutting, it's best to cut at an angle.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this little saw. It works great on smaller branches and to clean up under some of the shrubs that I have. It so far has stayed very sharp for the many uses I have used it for. It is a good size and fits well in my smaller hands. I like that it isn't very heavy in weight making it the one saw I tend to use the most.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this to cut a bunch of weeds that were just too thick for a push mower or weed eater Requires good old elbow grease but works very well. It chops thick stalks. Saws small branches, roots and limbs. Is ergonomically friendly for the hands. Come with a protective sheath to store or carry safely. This is sharp so wear proper protection. Would reccomend as an addition to other yard tools as part of your yard/hedge cleaning.
