Perfect for many things

Natty33 October 17, 2021

My husband was delighted to use the Fiskars pick - better than other tools he has for around the garden, he has used it to help me make a hole for a shrub we recently purchased and he likes to use it to get rid of rocks, and turnover planting areas - it seems easier than a shovel and it is lightweight but powerful! A must have tool for any homeowner!

It's the one I'd PICK - get it! Hahaha

Jester October 18, 2021

I got this after seeing it online, so I wasn't expecting a whole lot when it arrived. MAN! This thing is GREAT! Sorry I don't know all the technical terms so bear with me... the flat part on the end of the head is sharp. So is the pick part. This thing easily tears through weeds, dirt, (even super hard gravely dirt like I have) and makes whatever job I'm doing so much easier. I should've gotten one of these years ago! The head is a very well made metal and is 'inseperable' from the handle accoording to the manufacturer. The handle is nice and sturdy and comfortable to grip. I haven't tried this thing out on boulders yet, but it easily broke up fist sized and slightly bigger rocks with no problem. I wish I had this when I started my garden this year, but I am so glad I will have it next year. We like to rockhound too, I can think of so many things to use this for. The handle is the perfect length for me (5'6 female) AND my sons (6'3 males) so literally the whole family can use it. It is a little heavy, especially the head part, but I think that just helps with the force of the downswing. Also, it has a full lifetime warranty. 10/10 all the way around!

solid heavy duty pick

Momma22 October 18, 2021

This is a solid heavy duty pick! It has a good weight to it and it's very secure. The best thing about this pick is that it is patented with IsoCore Shock Control System. Meaning, it transfers two times less shock and vibration than a regular wood handle pick. The slimmer head is for driving hard surfaces and the mattock end for tough soil. This pick is such a great help for my fall vegetable gardening. I have used it for loosening/digging the ground to plant trees as well. I highly recommend it.

Well Built!

SaraR08 October 12, 2021

I'm currently going through some renovations and this tool has come in so handy! Hiring professionals to remove old cement/etc, while easy, is expensive! I removed an old little section of my house to rebuild and wanted to do as much on my own as I could. As anyone would already know, that means removing and breaking up brick/block, you name it. This pick made it a million times easier. It's extremely well built and solid. No worry of the head flying off in the middle of a swing. The flat end is very sharp and breaks with ease. I also believe that the reverse, small end would work great for breaking ice out of water tanks/etc as I live in Minnesota and they love to freeze up 5 months out of the year! High quality, multi-purpose & works great? Just can't go wrong with that!

Sharp Pick Axe

Anonymous October 11, 2021

The pointed end is very sharp and was great at striking a hole. It has the industries' best shock control system when striking with 2x less shock. It has an inseparable head and a full lifetime warranty. I love the yellow and black colors. Was packed with safety plastic over the sharp end and wrapped in bubble wrap.

Great for yardwork

GMama07 October 14, 2021

The Fiskars IsoCore 5 lb. Pick was used to break up the dirt in an area of our yard in preparation for new spring plantings (next year). The pick ax made it easier to accomplish this task by using the pick end to start breaking up the hardened ground and the flat edge crumbled the clumps of earth. This pickax is replacing the pointed shovel we previously used. The Fiskars pick is balanced to make it easier to swing. The shock control system it uses does absorb much of the impact. The head is riveted on and does not feel as if it would come off with repeated use. To give you a better sense of size; from the top's flat edge to the tip of the point, it is 18 inches. The core of the pick is made of forged steel and should last through years of use. The handle was comfortable and has a textured grip that fit well whether bare handed or with gloves. Our next project is to use the pointed end to aerate the yard. The pick came packaged well and we put the safety parts (pliable plastic tubing for the point and hard cardboard wrap for the flat edge) back on the pick's head for storing. Yes, I recommend the Fiskars Pick and give it 5 stars. Note: I received this product as a promotion.

A Wonderful tool

John316 October 11, 2021

My backyardhas a hard soil that I cannot break with a shovel unless I break the shovel. This is where this pick comes in. It is heavy enough to be efficient using itsown weight to break a hard surface. The pointed end works very well for breakingup rocky surfaces such as gravel and hardened, dried earth. The flat end isideal for digging deeper and sideways, and for using it as a hoe. The Insulatingsleeve in the handle helps reduce vibration that happens when the pick is struckagainst a hard surface, like a stone in the soil or hard soil itself. Thehandle is covered with some sort of rubber material which makes the surfaceeasy to grasp and is ideal for holding it tight: it will not easily slip out ofmy hands when I swing the pick against the soil. I also like the fact that Ican put the pick in the vertical position with the head down when I have abreak, and the pick will stand by itself, not falling on the side and beingready to be picked up and used at any moment. The handle stays clean that way with no dirt or moisture on it preventing holding it securely. It is a wonderful tool!

Quality, heavy duty pick, just the right weight.

Christina October 20, 2021

The Fiskars pick is a strong, well-made tool. It is a perfect weight where it does what it is supposed to, yet your arms and back feel good after working with it. The handle is rubberized, so it doesn't slip or hurt your hands, and the length is just right. I used this to dig up a part of my front yard, and I found it easy to work with and did the job perfectly. I am also removing the grass from the side of the driveway to do a decorative edge. I am so happy I have this pick since I wanted to do these projects on my own.

Fiskars IsoCore 5 lb Pick

RosRock December 5, 2021

After having only used wooden handled, large hand tools, I'm impressed with the Fiskars IsoCore five pound pick. The IsoCore Shock Control System absorbs the vibration after a strike. The dual layered handle fits comfortably in my hand, and I appreciate the design that reduces blistering of my hands. Having had the head of a large hand tool slip and slide, I'm very happy with the riveted head. A very happy experience!

Love this pick

Railnut October 14, 2021

When I got this mail the box was badly mangled.Very well made and medium weight with a longer handle then others. This pick doesn't hurt your back because of the longer handle. I used this to clean out an area in my yard to place a flower box. It worked well and fast. I am impressed with it. Definitely would recommend this product
