Just what we needed. Strong and sharp.
I love these scissors. They are very stylish with khaki/white handles an orange lock button. They look like a cross between garden snips and scissors. The non-slip long handle grips are so comfortable. The slide-on sheath keeps the points protected without being able to gouge anything (even if the orange lock slides to unlock position). To unlock, you slightly squeeze and push the lock up. I initially missed the wire cutter notch, which makes them very handy for light electrical or crafting work. They can work with 12 gauge wire. A 93 yr-old crafter was able to cut through several fabric layers very easily. I would recommend them for bonsai work too. Besides doing a lot of the branch “snipping,” they can cut the wire for training the little trees. The tips are sturdy and more easily able to cut cleanly than regular scissors without straining. They open pretty wide to expose nearly all of the cutting surface. If you have small hands, you may struggle at first working with them. Also, the spring requires more effort to fully close than regular scissors. But the spring also functions to give a lot of control over cutting. They are very precise and accurately cut paper-doll patterns from paper. The snap-on sheath makes them safe to toss into a crafting drawer or box or carry in a bag without cutting through. Not recommended for kids; very sharp blades and tips!
I love these snips. Very well made. The handles have a rubber grip which makes them easy to handle. They are sharp. They have a case that goes over the blade for protection. Very nice. The snip has an orange button to push up and down to unlock and lock. Love this feature. I have been using them in the garden for cutting and pruning and they cut nicely. I am very pleased with these snips!
I received my powercut snips and they are un believable . I have used them on cutting fake flower stems , also used them to cut zip ties and cornet bead for dry wall. They have stayed sharp and ate very easy and comfortable to the hand. U do crafts so on my next craft project I will differently be using them.
I had been needing a tool or device that would work on multiple projects, including things that I needed to cut for my garden. I found that these did the trick. They easily cut the mesh fencing that I use to go around my pots, and they even cut my bamboo stakes. I needed the stakes to be shorter for a few of my younger plants and these worked just fine. I admit it took a little muscle, but it made perfect cuts exactly where I needed them to be. I like that they have a locking device built in to keep them together when not in use, as well as a sheath to keep the blades covered. I am happy with these cutters and I would recommend them to friends and family.
My husband and I are using these snips to make leather projects. Our leather isn't too thick or stiff, so these Fiskars piwer snips work very well. Nice and sharp, the handles are easy to grip and stay well in one's hand when snipping away. I really love the sheath for the blades to keep them from being damaged and other items from being poked or damaged.
These are great shears for heavier materials like cardboard, leather and vinyl. They are 8 inches total length with 3 inch stainless steel blades. Very balanced in your hand with soft grips. They are spring loaded so always open without effort and with a locking mechanism to keep them closed when not in use. There is a notch in one side of the blade to use for cutting wire. There is a plastic sheath to cover the blades for storage too. Very handy and well made tool.
PowerCut is a good name for this product but we'll get to that later. The device is eight inches long which makes for easy handling. The handle is very comfortable and has a non slip coating. The blades can be locked shut which is great if you have kids. There is a plastic sheath that clips on over the blade also, which I consider another safety feature. The spring expands the handles back to the cutting position. When you use the shears, the cut easily continues to the blades end with no extra effort. Now, what can these shears be used for? Just about any cutting job. I dabble in a number of hobbies and do it yourself projects and find these shears extra handy. My leather working has taken a step up since using this tool. They are very precise in making the required cuts. I also do stained glass crafting and the shears are great for cutting the copper foil tape that needs to be applied around every piece of glass. Doing some electric work? No problem. The shears include a wire cutter. This is where the PowerCut name comes into play. The product is much more powerful than any other shears I have used over the years. The wife likes to borrow the shears when she is scrap booking and she loves them. Hmmm, maybe for her birthday! Don't tell her, now.
These snips cut through thicker material easily. They are sharp and high quality. I haven't had them long but seem very durable. I have suddenly noticed pain in my hands which is most likely, arthritis and using these is a breeze. The Fiskars brand is well recognized for a reason.
I do lots of different types of crafting/sewing and these Fiskars PowerCut Snips are a great addition to my tools. The handle is long and padded which makes for a very comfortable cut. My fingers don't have to rub/push against a plastic loop to open them, the spring does that with ease. These snips are very sharp! They have cut through paper, heavy cardboard, felt, and cloth like a hot knife through butter! You also don't have to worry about damaging the blades of the snips trying to cut wire because there is a special hole for wire cutting. It snips the wire with such ease you will think you are cutting paper. I can see how the wire cutting hole could be a little awkward to use if you are trying to snip wire that is already on a project depending on the project and the wire location. There is a safety button that keeps the snips closed until you are ready to use them on top of a plastic sheath. I thought that was a great added touch.
