These clippers are very easy on the wrist and pack a lot of power. I've tried other clippers that require much more force and rate these very highly. They feel very different the first time you use them, but you quickly become used to it and will find them very comfortable.
I'm 76 years old as my hands will attest, and the 'power gear' helps make clipping much easier for me. Three months ago I never would have purchased another make or model gardening clipper. In the past, my power gear clippers lasted for years and I bought new only because they'd become dull over time and I could not find a reliable clipper sharpener. In my opinion, when Fiskars changed their power gear clipper design, their clipper quality deteriorated. Last year's new pair broke at the end of last year's gardening season, so I bought another pair three months ago for this year's garden, expecting them to last multiple years. I was absolutely stunned when my 'new' power gear clippers broke yesterday evening. These broken clippers are less than three months old and the gardening season isn't over yet! Sadly, two pair broken in two years is too much for me, so I'm switching to another brand entirely.
I bought this 3 days ago and it did not live up to my expectations. Difficult to cut 3/4 inch pomegranate branches and the handles pinched my palms if used without gloves. The blade is too soft for hard wood.
Got these Fiskars Power gear2 for my birthday 1 month ago. Have used them once and the handles bind up constantly which requires forcing the lower handle back into position. I'm only cutting tiny 1/16" twigs. Very disappointed.
The handle that rotates makes this terrible to use repeatedly. Plus debris from the cuttings can make it into the gear easily binding the pruner up. I have a bunch of Autumn Joy that needs pruning every year, and these can't even work on that. I switched to cheaper pruners with much better results.
No longer locks! Safety issue. When it works it works well. Seems it broke while it was in stowed, safe closed position.
Without a doubt, the worst trimmer I have ever bought. The blades separate even on small twigs and don't cut. They choose to cut some but not others, very inconsistent. Trash.
Bought a pair of P552 titanium 3/4 inch capacity last night amd come home to find a handle broke! 1/8 inch of plastic snapped in the handle! Why?
Difficult to use, opens fully SOMETIMES. The handle fell off after 1 hour of use
It very hard to handle. I have tried for months, but it just frustrates me and I go back to my old Fiskars.
