I have owned different ratchet loppers in the past, but nothing as amazing as these. This lopper made the job of pruning a tree so easy. I don't have great upper body strength but I didn't need it with these. It made the job almost like cutting through butter. I own several Fiskar tools and rakes and I'm never disappointed. I highly recommend these loppers.
Since my loppers are 10 or 15 years old and look like it, I came here looking for a new one. Knowing that mine can bite through a tank and I have thrown 300 lb of body weight behind it, I know that the old blades are really strong. Seeing that all the new blades are breaking, you can guess that somebody made a cost saving maneuver and ruined the product. That's too bad. I guess I'll keep my old ones. They are fantastic tools
These are reticulating which makes cutting much easier especially of the invasive trees that sprout lots of new ones each year. Dont need a lot of strength with these if you use them correctly (which take just a bit of practice) and dont need strength to cut the new growth up to about 1 1/2 inches.
The FISKARS Ratchet Drive allows for cutting up to 2 inch branches. Easy to use ratchet feature. With normal loppers, it is hard to impossible for me to cut 2 " branches. Would require that I carry both a standard lopper and a small pruning saw. Pruning is quicker as I don't have to switch between tools.
I ha e had wonderful luck previously with fiskar . Comparing the new to the 20 year old loppers I am replacing, the quality looks just as good. Hope these last as long!
I have to many loppers but these are the best I have. They are amazing they work so good. After buying my first pair of Fiskars Ratchet Loppers, Fiskars became my go to brand
These are awesome! My old bypass looper's were getting loose, and one of the handles is slightly bent. I finally decided to buy new ones. These are pricey, and the anvil style of loppers; but they cut so well! There with the price
It works good but is extremely heavy! I got it because I thought it would help me cut things. And i'm not very strong but some things I can't cut because it's too hard to hold it up. It does cut really well and it would be great if you were a really strong person.
Having a "curved" feature in loppers makes it difficult say, for instance, if clearing areas where there are involuntary multiple bushes that sprouted close to one another at ground level. If the loppers were "straight edged" it would expedite cutting to one clip. If I clip 6 inches above ground, no problem; but at ground level where they are close together it is impossible to place the loppers between each to cut level with the ground. With the "curved edged" it requires multiple tries to cut at ground level. Absolutely not worth $41 for the extra work it creates.
I purchased one returned it because the blade snapped off in first 1/2 hour. The second one same thing happened.
