I am a 63 year-old woman and found this to be easy to use. It is light weight and has sharp blades. I trimmed two big oak trees in less than 2 hours (including bundling up the branches). I recommend you wear gloves and not stand under the branch you are cutting.
I don't know why I saw a few bad reviews for a lack of stiffness or dull blade. I have absolutely no complaint about either, and it was purchased at a fraction of the price of many others. Some folks just like to complain. The quick-lock telescoping adjustment was a nice surprise as well. Thanks for a good product at a great price. My only complaint was that the sale price drew me to the store, only to find out Walmart didn't have any, and I had to buy it at full price through the internet.
Bought for my husbands for birthday. He loves it and at 74yo he needs equipment he can handle. This Fiskars Tree Pruner was his favorite gift. Needless to say we watched him prune trees the rest of the day without help......per his request. ALL DAY!!!!!
The item is a dream come true for anyone who love working in the yard. It is especially helpful and easy to use for people who are short and don't have a lot of muscles. It is worth the money.
I brought it home took it out of the package trimmed the tree branches. now it's on the shelf waiting for the next job. I could have bought a powered one for 50 more dollars but I like to save money and I got nice workout for free.
I'm very satisfy with this tool and I would recommended to you all.
No instructions in packaging. I didn't know the width of branch it would cut through without binding up the blade. I needed to cut a branch the squirrels were using as a roadway to get on my deck. I had to use the tool through my 2nd story window and worked perfectly. After thought, I would not attach saw when manuvering the tool through the tree branches. Also, I didn't use the saw, but will definantely need to be on level ground when sawing off branch.
The saw blade is easily detachable to facilitate using the pruner (which I have not tried yet), but unfortunately the pruner feature has projecting parts which interfere with and limit using the saw. This tool would get much higher marks if the pruner did not interfere with the saw. Given the advantage of hindsight, I'd have purchased a long-reach trimming saw with no pruner accessory.
I used it once but the telescoping handles comes loose during cutting. This is a problem because you stop in the middle of the cut and had to restart the whole process.
Worked ok, but blade was so dull it took forever to cut through limb. Will see if I can buy a sharp blade.Wingnut did get loose, but just tighten with pliers and ok.
