When I purchased my fitbit Alta the holes were so tight that I couldn't snap it. My husband, a mechanic, said to put a little water on my finger and rub it on the prongs. It worked and they went into the holes. After you use it awhile, the holes loosen up. I also purchased the pink leather band which was much looser but I've knocked it open before so I have to be a bit more careful when I'm wearing it.
I have found if you fasten the band like normal then take one side loose from the display and fasten it that way it is much easier to fasten. No prob at all with my band
I've had my Alta about a month now. The band fastener is indeed a pain. But...I wouldn't want it to be so loose that it could fall off if it catches on something. It's easier if you don't wear the band tight, and you really shouldn't anyway b/c the sweat from your arm will corrode the charger pins. At first I'd warm the hole area with my hair dryer but over time they've stretched a tiny bit. I put it on sitting down so I can push against my knee to stabilize it; that helps. What I love about the band is that it's so easy to remove, to either change out or wash. These bands do get dirty and need a good scrubbing from time to time. A buckle might make fastening easier but I'm not so sure I'd want a metal buckle on my wrist and it wouldn't be as attractive...so...like I said, it isn't perfect but it works. :)
I am not unhappy with the accessory band but I had asked to have a different color to change out but both are the very same so I have not opened my accessory band since I would like to exchange it.
would not recommend because of the band problem. the holes were too tight to snap. my husband could not even fasten it of my wrist!
I have replaced the band once and now the second has broken same side within a year of purchasing it. That to me is poor quality considering the cost of the fitbit is $129.00 and replace band $29.00 at the store. I'm very unhappy about this because I use it daily to track my progress.
