I love my FitRx 20lbs Rubber Hex Dumbbell Set. Solid Steel Handles allow me to do reps without worrying about loss of grip, The Durable Rubber Coating is perfect protection in case you accidentally clang the weights together or contact the body. This set will take my workouts to a new level.
The weights are overall pretty good. They weigh right at 40 lbs. I do have a couple issues with the weights though. They are shipped and packed horribly. One box was almost completely obliterated and the other one did and was put into a FedEx box by FedEx themselves. Luckily neither was damaged. Another issue is these have pretty strong off gasing. I've had theses for weeks and they're still giving off a smell still. Lastly the hand grips although adequate could have been textured better. I'm able to lift them without issues but it's not the same level of grip as other brands. I would recommend them though especially at the price point.
I wish I had read the reviews because the smell is unbearable. I have them sitting outside in the hope that the tar smell goes away enough for me to use. Grip is good, but the overall size is bigger than I expected for a 25lb dumbbell.
These are much larger than a typical 25 pound dumbbell. They both weighed 24.2 pounds (which is less than what it should be) and they are the size of a 35 or 40 pound dumbbell. They work for my use but if I would have known how large they are compared to a normal 25 lb dumbbell I probably wouldn’t have bought them.
I would say the quality is good, the grips have a really good feel to them even without wearing gloves. But the absolutely putrid smell of fuel oil/kerosene is AWEFUL. Had to put them outside for a week before I even thought about bringing them back inside. If you can wait a week or so to use them, then it's a pretty good deal.
These dumbbells seem to be well built. The grip is good. They are easy to use…pretty straightforward dumbbells. BUT…THEY STINK TO HIGH HEAVEN!!! They smell so bad they made my whole house stink. I even washed them with soap. It didn’t help. I had to take them outside. Hopefully the stink will eventually wear off so I can bring them back in my weight room.
The picture is deceiving. These are giant dumbbells and the smell is overwhelming. It’s been out in my garage for a week and when I bring them inside, it stinks up the whole room. Will be returning.
They stink strongly of chemicals. I left them outside for a week and they still stink. I have to leave them outside
Extremely unpleasant and strong plastic/chemical smell. I wish I read the reviews first, as many others have mentioned the same exact thing. I will be returning the item to the store. Walmart should not be selling it.
Got these for a reasonable price, and the construction was great, but the rubber smell is awful. I've washed them several times with soap, then with vinegar, and left them outside to “off-gas” for days on end. They are actually out there right now because they are stinking up my house. It's so strong. There are days I forget what the smell is, and then I remember. It actually feels like my throat is burning. They shouldn't be allowed to sell these things. I should've been tipped off when the 20-pounders were much larger than the 25-pounders I bought from a different company. That just tells me they're using so much rubber that the smell is never gonna go away. I would love to say buy these, but they're almost unusable. I should get rid of them, but I feel like I wasted money if I do that. I probably will. I can't really take it anymore.
