I used it while camping and it worked very well. Recommendation; use very light flags on it, not thick fabric or embroidered stars. This will put less stress on the upper pole. Find a cheap, thin flag(s) to use and it will work nicely!
Using for camping to fly various flags. Stores well, easy to extend, flags clip on easily. Perfect for pirate weekend, Nascar flags, and the American Flag!!!
It worked really well. The only problem I had was the ground was really hard and I couldn't get that stake in. I improvised with zip ties.
Excellent replacement for a push pull rod which cost 5 time's the price of the telescopic flag pole
I brought this a few weeks ago and have been using it for tailgating. It's been great! I would purchase again!
flew 2 flags on it at Surf City Campground N.C. for 8 days and it worked very good for me ,I lowered it when the thunderstorms came in ..
I used it for 9 days, it must be supported though since it bends easily.
its just the pole, no supports, no ropes, no tent stakes nothing... its kinda short it extends pretty far but id not use it at full length in the wind but it is as advertised :) if you only extend it to 10 feet its pretty sturdy very light and tucks away nicely about 4ft long x5 sections starting at 2in diameter at the bottom maybe 3/4 at the top probably 1/8in aluminum tubes i'm not measuring i'm guestimating... its post up right now outside doing its job, mines holding up an antenna i don't have any issues with the twist lock unlocking, id probably stay away from posting huge flags on it but a small flag would go up all the way probably even 2 or 3 of they were small enough. like the small car flags... little Lakers flags etc. there is no rope hoist, the flag pole takes 2 seconds to extend and there are some paper clippy deals at the top to hold flags... as someone else stated elsewhere if you have issues with the twist lock use a few small hose clamps and maybe a little rubber hose to keep them up there and from scratching the aluminum. couple little snippets of old garden hose or something. i like mine but its similar to a fishing pole if you're looking for something super sturdy this isn't it but it will fly colors and let people know which camp/tailgate is yours :) it might fit in one of them square holes on the bed of a pickup i don't know. it has a rubber boot at the bottom and a plastic tip at the top
This is a very flimsy flag pole. I would not recommend this pole to anyone. Spend a little more money and get a flag pole with a larger diameter base. I have seen this flag pole with a 35 degree bend with a 20 mph wind and it would make my American flag bunch up.
I purchased 3 of these almost a year ago. While they worked perfectly the first few months, they have not lasted well at all. The seals break and weather enters the joints and they become a great recycle item.
