I had been searching for a flag pole to replace the one I had in my garden. Seems high winds came through and broke the pole. I'd "fixed" it, but it really wasn't right. I had been looking for a good economical flag pole to replace the broken one. I found all kinds of flag poles online -- most were a lot more expensive that I wanted to pay. Then I came across the flag pole at Sam;s; it looked like a decent pole and was well within my budget. A few days later, I received my flagpole; it was way MORE than "decent" it was really good and works like a charm. An all around good buying experience.
Our group recently started having trouble with our aging flagpole (2 years old), and replaced it with this one (and a separate stand). The difference in ease of use and quality was clear immediately, and it looks good too. Its a little pricy, but very good. We just ordered two more!
I was happy about the free shipping and it arrival was correct with the estimator. The cost was much less then other places I looked for the exact same pole. If your looking for a cheap okay pole that will get you by for tailgates this is your pole, but if you want something that heavy duty or live in a wind area this is not for you.
Bought this for race weekend in August. We'll have to wait and see. Looks like it's going to do the job.
The pole is nice and tall 28' it also packs well into a small space. I am a little disapointed with the design because the smaller poles that maintain the flag hardware are shorter requiring full assembly and disassembly each time it is used. I predominatly used it for tailgating and other poles I have used leave the smaller poles at the top slightly longer so harware and flags can be maintained on the pole between uses.
I thought I was buying a fiberglass pole, but received a metal pole. I already own a quality aluminum pole and I was looking for a shorter and lighter option. If the pole had performed, I would have kept it, but the top swivel that holds the flag was so bound up it didn't have a prayer of flying freely. It's poorly designed and of subpar quality. I promptly returned it.
I purchased a pair of these telescoping flagpoles 6 months ago. The snap latches are really difficult to release, making it hard to retract. One of the snap latches will not snap in at all. The upper sections, which are twist lock, will not stay up and are constantly collapsing. One of the poles snapped, above the bottom section, and came crashing down in only a moderate breeze.
We ordered this pole to secure two 3' by 5' flags as advertised. First use it didn't want to stay up at the top few sections. Also multiple buttons couldn't secure the lower sections as the holes weren't properly cleaned out. With very little wind the plastic rings that hold the flag clips also broke. It stood proud for all of a couple hours. I couldn't be more disappointed. It was a complete waste of money.
I bought this under 2 months ago, it broke and fell on neighbours motorhome with 1 flag on it and an 12 mph wind.
