I purchased this product to eliminate buying disposal 1lb cylinders. It is easy to set up and use. So far I have used it twice and have been checking the weight when cylinders are filled it is right on the money for 80% fill.
Much better to refill these over and over. Very Practical. Thank you!
Works very well - the key is to properly align on the black semi-circular uide on the inside of the 1lb nozzle from this kit to the corresponding groove on the 1lb tank when you attach it - otherwise propane will vent without filling the 1 lb tank. ALSO putting the 1lb tanks in the freezer for an hour ahead helps for a more complete fill. If you have a scale, the Flame King 1lb tank weighs about 1.6lbs empty and 2.6lbs full (so you can check your fill ;) It takes about 45-60 seconds to fill an empty 1lb tank.
I love the environment and have never used the disposable 1 pound bottles so I was happy to find this refill kit. The refill kit works easily just at the video shows. The only issue that I'm having is finding the refillable bottles without the kit. Walmart and Home Depot both indicated that they carry the refillable bottles but both are out of stock. I've requested an email notification from both but neither have sent one.
I use a lot of 1 pound propane cylinders and have watched all of the YouTube videos on how to refill the disposable cylinders, but I've seen tanks explode when just refilling disposable tanks with air. I've also seen the aftermath of small propane explosions so I was scared to try. This comes with a refillable tank and additional tanks are available. I can see me safely saving money while following the simplest instructions.
Item was as described. Easy set up. All went well with the fill up. It was very helpful to watch the youtube video to understand the allen wrench and valve process to know when the cylinder was full.
I'm so happy that I chose this - It is well designed and works very well. Very easy to refill 1lb canisters from a standard 20lb cylinder. Saves a lot of money.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You need to have a scale to weight the propane to prevent overfill for safety.
Everything works as it should. While it frankly isn't that big of a money saver for most people, but then most people have 1 or 2 propane tank sitting in backyard so why not make use of something like this. One thing to look out for is that it's designed to let some propane out while filling it, and the propane smell can linger on you for quite a while if you're not upwind. You have to screw it on tightly also or it can leak quite a bit at the connection also. Yellow teflon tape helps.
waste of money, couldn't even give it away
