Efficient and adorable! This little Dutch Oven does the job for sourdough bread making. I chose this one because of the cast iron interior, where my other one has the enameled interior. This one will be less prone to thermal shock at the high temperatures needed for sourdough baking. It's just the right size for a boule loaf.

I have two other cast iron bread ovens, both well known brands, and this one is far better than either of those. I wasn't sure at first because it's fairly lightweight compared to the others, but it outperforms both of them. It gets good and steamy and bakes my sourdough bread to perfection. The inside is not enameled and the ridges in the bottom keep the crust from getting too hard. I love it.

The post shows a PURPLE color dutch oven while printing that it is MAGENTA. So I assumed I ordered a purple DO. But I got a magenta one! Beware, if you're fussy about the color!! The magenta (RED) is beautiful so I'm keeping it.

It is well packed. it is well packed, no chips or flaws in the finish. The color is perfect. I ordered the purple color and I feel like the picture online is almost a perfect representation of the true color. If I had another bread maker to buy a gift for I would purchase it again.

Beautiful Dutch oven. Well made. Glad I could find one that is attractive and not enamel inside. The bottom is not flat. It has a raised grill pattern . It will keep our dough from getting too brown on the bottom. Finally someone designed the perfect Sourdough Dutch Oven that is beautiful looking.

if you like sourdough this pan with "big lid" will suit you well for many things not just sourdough...two thumbs up!! be sure to get some spurtles too, very handy
