I bought this before seeing that there is a similar product by the same company specifically for new chicks. Regardless, I have been using this and it seems to ease some of the stress from shipping. I plan to buy the 911 recovery version to have on hand in the future.
Very stressful spring and summer causing some disruption of laying...was hoping this would help my girls but they wouldnt touch it.
Seems to be working for my chickens that had some problems with yeast.
Just what I needed to heal my chickens
noticed a slight difference in stress levels. still worth it.
This worked very well for my chickens.
Thriving chicks
Our chickens use FlockLeader Thrive daily, but we wanted to give them some extra support after learning that a rat was coming into the coop to eat their feed. On top of the coop visitor, we'd had some very hot days, so we decided to try Recover Plus. We stopped administering Thrive and switched to Recover Plus for a week. In just a few days, the chickens seemed much calmer, and their eggs were totally clean again. After that week, we switched back to their daily Thrive supplement, and they've been doing great! I'm so glad we will have this on hand for any other stress-inducing events in the future.
I ordered this product to give my backyard flock a boost this spring and summer during the hottest months. As it gets hot out my birds start to pant and show signs of stress and they definitely go through a lot of water as the temps heat up. I was happy to find that there was a product like this on the market. It's super easy to use -- I just added the indicated dosage to the birds' water. It's a great way to boost bird health and support our flock.
I appreciate the ease of purchasing this supplement at Walmart, and the price is fair. This product is good for stressful times like heat, extreme cold, new flock mates, or molting. I dislike that the packaging on this product might mislead some people to think it is an effective stand alone treatment for a sick bird. If your chicken is truly sick, more involved treatment will be needed beyond this product. I like to consult the website Backyard Chickens, the Chicken Chick, or books by Gail Dameraw when one of my hens gets sick (not affiliated with any of these). I would upgrade to five stars if the packaging better communicated that additional care beyond the product may be needed.
