I first learned about this product after watching Drew's new show. I ordered it, online, and could not be happier with the color palette. The colors combine nicely and look good with green eyes. I will definitely be trying other Flower products. Thanks Drew!
I bought the Black Iris palette because I love a smoky eye with purple in it. These colors are stunning. The pigment is great, and they blend flawlessly. Now that it's summer, I do need to wear a primer for the shadow to not crease as I have oily eyelids; but, I have used the colors when my skin is drier and they lasted all day. I can't wait to try more colors! Such great quality!
The packaging is nice and the color size is perfect not too small. I love the colors! Very flattering. They go on smooth with almost no fallout. Flower eyeshadow has staying power and as someone who doesn't really wear make up the that's important to me. I can't wait to try the other quads.
I still have several of the original Shadow Play quads; Secret Garden, Foxy Browns and Smoke and Mirrors. Kept finding replacements online when I used them up. These new Petal Play are just as good and versatile. Love, love, love these little quads, thanks for hearing your fans and bringing them back! Beautiful packaging attracted me the first time, excellent quality soft buttery shadows kept me coming back.
First off, I must say that the photos of Gilded Lily suck! In one of the photos, the colors look like they are very orange. And forget about figuring out from the photos what the shimmer level is. Why can't they swatch the four colors on different shades of skin? Sorry for the rant. In actuality, Gilded Lily contains the most beautiful light salmon colors with a nice medium-brown one thrown in. Only one color has too much shimmer/glitter for my taste, and the brown is a beautiful matte that I use as my eyeliner. The photo with the model is the most true to real life. I was afraid on my pale skin, it would not look as great, but I was wrong. The colors are not too yellow, not too pink, and they look great with my light, neutral-toned skin. Gilded Lily is the perfect daytime eyeshadow for me!!!
Great palette. Colors go great with my new pink/peach hair color. The colors aren't super powdery and stay on all day. I hate how eyeshadow often gets in my eyes, but this does NOT at all. Pigmented and powdery in one. I have no idea how she does it! The only issue I have is opening the case. I have no idea why it's so difficult to open, maybe it's just me!
I got the lightest palette and the mattes blend out and are the stars in this palette. The shimmers must be applied with a finger for maximum affect. Overall its a pretty good eyeshadow if you need something quick. The quality is a step up from the ELF bite size eyeshadow palettes.
Disclaimer: I'm 36 and have fine lines and some texture around my eyes, medium warm complexion. I have only used the matte, pinky-neutral color as a transition/crease shade, but it works beautifully. I love the smaller option of a quad shadow compared to huge pallets, and if I ever feel adventurous I can play with the shimmers in here. Good quality, pretty colors.
If you love bling-y eye shadow, this is for you. Sadly, all 4 shadows in the In Bloom quad are sparkly, not what I expected or wanted. Not a single matte in the bunch either to use as a base or crease shade. The shades themselves are pretty, if only they didn't have all that glitter in them. This particular quad is more like eye "toppers". I love Flower Beauty, am a long-time customer and own a ton of the brand but was disappointed with In Bloom. I wonder if the other quads are as glittery as this one?
The shadows are iridescent, and this was unexpected. I based my purchase on the photo, I thought I was getting a quad of soft, matte colors. I went back and read the description of the shadows and see I was wrong. My fault. I don't know if I will ever wear them.
