Fluance High Density Frosted Acrylic Platter For Fluance Reference Turntables compatible with RT82/RT83/RT84/RT85 (AP03)

I have to admit i was really skeptical about the reviews talking about sound improvement when using this platter but to my suprise it really does improve the soundstage of my Fluance by quite a bit. It also looks stylish and clean. I really dont regret my purchase.

Nothing to add other that has already been said. Static is eliminated a lot. There are some believers on Audioholics that claim that the whole acrylic platter is a joke. Too sad to hear so poor statements. I'm very happy with the acrylic platter, I don't know though if I need to readjust the cartridge.

It has made a difference. The biggest thing I've noticed is the clarity in the low notes. Bass lines are more distinct. Low piano notes and synthesizers have more fullness. The kickdrum, toms, snare and rotos pop more. Is it worth $120 to tune your music? To me it is. To be able to listen to music and hear things for the 1st time I've never heard is simply amazing. Being a big prog rock fan, there's so many individual things going on in many songs that I want to hear and in my ears opinion, this acrylic platter brings so much of that out. I've tried heavy rubber, cork, glass, & acrylic mats and nothing has come close this. I believe to fully get the most out of your vinyl collection you must have a good cartridge/ stylus, preamp and speakers. All played on a CLEAN record. This platter will take those 4 things and really enhance your music.

I exclusively listen to records through headphones because I don't have space for speakers right now. This killed a lot of the small sounds and fuzziness encountered during playback so things sound way better and clearer. I barely even have to use my brushes anymore.

It's rare that advertising messages these days turn out to be true. But yeah.. after living with RT84 for a couple of years already, upgrading into this acrylic platter can make obvious differences to my ears. Everything sounds tighter and more difined. Being a satisfied Fluance customer from Thailand can be a major pain in the behind though, since the shipping cost is very high from Canada to Bangkok. I cheaped out by getting myself an acrylic mat and it was good. But upgrading the whole platter is clearly a next level of that satisfaction. The build of this thing is very premium. I'm glad i pulled the triggered. I was also looking at a spare rubber belt for the future but the shipping cost on the official website for just one rubber belt is...beyond any reasoning. So it would be very nice to have the belt listed here, too. :-)

This is a very easy upgrade and does absolutely make a positive audible difference compared to the standard aluminum platter and mat. Unlike the aluminum set-up, with the new acrylic platter there is almost zero transmission of sound when you set the dust cover down gently or lightly contact the plinth. I used to get a soft ''thump'' through the speakers but no more! Static clicks and pops are essentially eliminated with the acrylic as well - can't do anything about the scratches of course... The acrylic is great as no mat is needed and the record stays in direct contact with the platter and the added weight just makes the whole system seem more stable. I would say this is a very worthwhile upgrade after the cartridge and stylus which are probably the best bang for the buck. I would like to see the acrylic platter a bit less expensive (and more available to upgrade - i waited 6 months to get one) but the quality is top notch and well worth the wait.

Very solid aesthetic upgrade for the non R85s. Looks very complete. It also has helped with the bit of static that would come along, usually on B side when flipped and the little pops that causes. I'm very happy with it. I can't speak to the improvement in over all sound as my system likely wouldn't notice. I did have an issue when it was delivered first as it was just put in a small bubble wrap envelope and a plastic envelope. It looked like it was dropped during shipping and damaged. Fluance couldn't have been better with a super fast return and replacement. The replacement was shipped in a box in perfect shape. These things happen, and you won't find better customer service. Dawn was excellent helping me through it.

I have read how bad customer support is at Fluance and I have to say that was not my experience. I purchased the Acrylic Platter for my RT83. When it arrived, there was a chip in the platter. I called customer support and after asking a few questions and sending in some pictures I had an RMA and sent it back. A couple weeks later the new one arrived and was in perfect condition. I installed the new platter, and it upgraded my sound a great deal. It is an excellent upgrade for the RT83. It looks cool, sounds great, and I'm happy with the product and customer services quick response to my issue. I recommend this upgrade if you're looking to improve the sound of your turntable without going broke. Yes, upgrading the stylus helps the sound as well.

Communication with Fluance was very smooth from beginning to end. I first ordered the platter over the phone and the customer service rep was very friendly and informative. The platter arrived with a chip and was packaged poorly. The return process/paperwork took a few days but the replacement platter arrived within a week and works / looks wonderful. I have upgraded my R-82 turntable to a R-85 with a Ortofon Blue cartridge and the acrylic platter; the sonic improvements are well worth the investment.

I think the product is good but my customer service experience leaves a lot to be desired. The first platter I received was scratched and damaged. Immediately called customer service And I had to prove that it came this way. After sharing photos they agreed that it was damaged from the warehouse. Almost a week later I finally received my return label.I Pleaded with them, could they please send me one And I promise to return there damaged one. But their process is they can't send a new one until they received the old one. Seeing that it was there mistake to begin with I had to wait almost a month to receive this product. And every representative I spoke to had very little interest in my inconvenience. Solely on my experience I would never buy another product from this company.
