While it took longer than I expected to setup the turntable the instructions were clear and the process was easy. The bubble level was a great addition! I played an old Pink Floyd album and got to hear that old analog magic for the first time in decades. The turntable performed admirably!

Beautil looks and Sound

Michael February 1, 2026

This thing is not only beautiful to look at the sounds it plays are absolutely perfect. even my vintage vinyl plays flawlessley. i chose the white glossy finish and to my surprise it came with a clear and very heavy acrylic platter requiring no rubber or cork mat. the see through tinted and hinged dust cover works fine and the cartrige is preinstalled on the head. Unboxing is self explanatory and i was spinning vinyl in under 15 minutes. a bubble round level is included as is a 45 record adaptor. The only disappointment is the 3 legged base. i feel for a table of this quality and price they should have designed this player with 4vlegs for added stability. without this added stability you will cause skipping on your albums on old style wood floor homes. the engineer must have a concrete slab home.

After a couple of years away from vinyl records, I came back and decided to upgrade my setup. I tried a couple of turntables in my life and after a couple of research, I decided to go with the Fluance RT85 (Ortofon 2M blue). I have a Schiit Mani 2 phono stage and and a Fosi V3 stereo amplifier along with a pair of old Technics SB a30 speakers. I know my speakers aren't the best, but as far as the rest of the setup is concerned, I am speechless. I came from an AT-LP120X, which is not a bad unit, but moving to an RT85 is a huge improvement. . The quality, the shipping time etc, everything was perfect. I can't wait to switch my old Technics for a pair of Fluance towers.

I had grown disgusted with trying to replace my old thrift store Kenwood Kd7x (which did it's duty admirably) and sampling a used Micro Seiki and Technics which were also falling apart and certainly not the reliable and noteworthy answer I was looking for. I knew it was time to pull the trigger on the Fluance RT85. This turntable has everything- acrylic platter, offset motor with easily changable belt, the amazing Ortofon 2m Blue, a very professional and retro walnut finish plinth, counter-weighted and anti-skate adjustable "s" shaped tonearm, a very slow and precise cueing mechanism, a round level when adjusting the vibration dampening feet and an auto-stop feature that cuts the platter movement in case you've wandered off to another area when the record ends. It's perfect. I am listening to Jeff Beck's "Blow by Blow" right now and the sound is mind-blowing in my living room. I use a Kenwood KA-7100 integrated amp, an Ampapa A1 phono preamp, and bullnose Advent speakers for reference. Don't waste your time on nonsense; just buy the RT85 and enjoy your records the way they are supposed to sound. I have to listen to my entire collection again to hear what I've been missing all these years.

I recently had to replace my workhorse Pioneer PL-400 and rather than look for another vintage table, i went with the Fluance RT-85. Quite an upgrade, everything sounds better on my system now and i'm very happy i went with this table. I am listening to the Ortofon but also have a Nagoaka MP110 that i will put on a Fluance headshell to have another option. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Hello Fluance Team, I've learned to study my purchases and thankful for your extensive HiFi information. My listening skills have definitely graduated a couple of notches. My turntable is awesome. Thank you,

First off the turntable sounds very good I think the Ortofon 2M Blue was a good choice. My only complaint is the tonearm dropping speed, it's too slow. What I think may be happening is when tonearm is lowering and the stylus contacts a record groove it gets pulled into the next groove and there is a skip. Probably not good for stylus or record.

Purchased this primarily for the auto-stop feature, cartridge, and support instead of going for a vintage model. The auto-stop works well and the audio quality is very good. The RT85 had an issue playing a slightly warped record where it was unable to keep steady speeds. My previous turntable (AT-LP120) never had an issue with that record. I reached out to support asking if a record weight was necessary and they initiated a full return. I bought my own record weight and it fixed the issue. Support doubled down and said there was a motor issue even after I sent a video with the weight. Extremely disappointed in the support team and staff, as buying new Hi-Fi equipment instead of older (and often cheaper) models of comparable or better quality. I will not be returning this, as I personally value the auto-stop, but I do regret not getting a different turntable with a similar auto-stop feature and cartridge.
