Good Mat at a Good Price

Mistertoaster December 14, 2021

I have a vintage A/R turntable with original foam mat. Over 40 years the mat has deteriorated; however, the turntable is in excellent condition. Decided it was time for a new mat. Looked at various designs: cork, leather, rubber, synthetic and decide on the Fluance mat. A well-made mat. I have not noticed any acoustical difference from the original mat, but it will definitely last longer than the original foam. Price is reasonable for the quality provided. Dusted off "Meet the Beatles" and it sounds as good as the day I purchased the album. Vinyl beats digital from an acoustic standpoint every time.

Great product!

Tridd May 11, 2024

This turntable mat has a nice weight to it, is anti-static, soft, and gently grips your records to prevent slippage. The logo imprint even adds a touch of class. What's not to love?

Improves Sound Quality

R. B October 27, 2023

Compared to my previous felt matt, This rubber matt is a vast improvement, didn't think it would make much difference so held off buying one. Technics ship some of there high end turntables with rubber matts like the one above for a reason. It's easy to keep clean and there's noticeably less static but most of all improved sound.

Nice replacement mat for RT-80

William B February 26, 2018

I really like the new sleek design of the rubber mat. As far as I can tell music does sound better but I'm not expert. I didn't take the time to check the belt speed change or anything but from the songs I did play (MJ) the timing didn't seem to be off. I think it's definitely a nice investment for a beginner turntable connoisseur. - Verified Store

Excellent Improvement no more record slipping!!

John February 14, 2018

I was having an occasional record slipping problem on my turntable. A friend suggested I buy a mat to stop the slipping. So I bought this particular one because it was rubber. It is working perfect and the records sound better than ever!! What an improvement!! I highly recommend this product to improve the listening quality of all your records..... - Verified Store

Is what it is

Jasmine C July 12, 2023

Very good quality and I haven't noticed any of my records sticking to yet and the grooves help to lift your records off with ease. Now people have said this collects dust and it does, but I found a product made by Big Fudge that is a little lint roller and it keeps this mat dust free and you just wash it off every so often, ready to use again.

Improve the musical presentation if your speakers are light in tonal balance with light bottom end.

Khoa A January 12, 2024

The rubber mat tightens up the bass by a few dbs and adds some heft to the bottom end and musical notes such as piano notes at the expense of some airiness and transparency at the high ends and a little reduction in the sound stage. It is a good trade off for my speakers (B&W 705's) which are very airy and transparent but lacking some bottom end heft. To be honest, the ratings should be 4-1/2 due to this compromise but I gave it a 5 stars due to its complementary contribution to the musical presentation of my speakers. You may want a different type of turntable platter mat if your speakers tend to be heavy at the low end with less airiness and transparency at then high end.

Great quality great quality and easy to customize

cliffside May 1, 2018

Bought this to replace an older mat. My turntable has auto record size sensing arms that pop up from the platter meaning I have to cut holes in the mat where the arms are. This mat is sturdy and feels great but is surprisingly easy to cut. Happily bought a second as I made a few mistakes on the first! - Verified Store

A needed piece for your record player

BT January 31, 2024

Looks sleek and a perfect replacement for your felt mat. Works perfectly on a belt drove table. I'm using on an Audio Technica LP60X with no issue. Little to no static, so those pesky hairs from the dog stay off the platter. Great buy!!UPDATENeed to update to correct my initial review. I would avoid this for belt drive tables. Was just listening to a few records and found it to be a tad too heavy which causes the records sound to warble, which means the belt is being strained. I would only use this if you have a direct drive turntable. I'm hopeful I won't have to replace my belt now.
