The FLUIDMASTER 400 AK Toilet Tank Complete Repair Kit was easy to install. First, let me stress that I am not a plumber, and this type of job was intimidating, but with the easy to understand instructions that came with this repair kit, and the step-by-step procedure illustrated by this repair kit, it was a snap in taking out the old hardware and putting in the new. After completion this toilet works just like new. It made a intimidating job unintimidating. As long as you can read, and follow instructions, anyone could complete this job in my opinion. And the price, with less than $20 to do this repair job. I recently had the other toilet and the second bathroom done by a professional, and his labor was well over $300 to do this. The way I see it I saved myself $300 in labor costs for about an hour of my time.

I am a senior lady and was able to install this product without difficulty. I found the instructions a bit hard to follow but was able to get help from You Tube videos. If I can do this at 70 most people should be able to install with no trouble. The price was certainly better than expected and saved a great deal over hiring a plumber. It was necessary to get tools for the removal of the old parts. The new parts really did not require tools as most are hand tighten.

This was a fix for both our toilets. ..fast, easy, and affordable....anyone can do this!!

Every time we flushed the commode we always heard this terrible sound coming from the pipes so we discovered there was air leaking thru them from the commode it had done this off and on every since we repaird the commode before. So we deciding to gut the whole in side of the tank and start over we found the Fluidmaster kit, the price was reasonable so we installed it and it works wonderfully and we don't hear the pipe noise anymore! That is such a relief, we lived with that noise far to long! We highly recommend the Fluid master tank repair kit!!!! We give it a higher than five!!

Easy to install easy to follow instructions

I am not a handyman, never have been, never will be but I was able to install this kit in about 4 hours. The majority of the time was involved in cleaning our toilet tank. Actual installation of the parts was about an hour and a half. I also had to replace the shut off valve and inlet line from the valve to the tank. The handle assembly seems cheesy but has only been in use for two weeks, we will see how long it lasts. Parts went together well, the instructions were easy enough to understand except the unit did not stop water running inside the valve after installation. A telephone call to the company provided an immediate, simple step to perform to rectify this. The step was actually included in the directions but was unclear as to when it should be used, I read it to be in the event the water into the overflow tube did not stop running. I have a three bolt toilet tank, not two, it would have been nice if they had put 3 in the box instead of 2 necessitating another 8 mile drive to a hardware store for an extra bolt.

Instructions were easy to follow, a list of tools you need at the beginning would make it a little better. The only hard part was taking the tank off, the nuts rusted so bad had to hacksaw the bolts .

Beware that this item CANNOT be returned to Walmart store. You have to pay to have it shipped back to seller. If I had known this I would NOT have purchased. Cheapest traceable shipping method was almost $12. Over 1/3 of cost of item. The item was too small for the toilet tank I had.
